Dr. Helen Kim Mirau, MD

She commented on the size of my breasts during my breast exam, unrelated to any complaint for me about pain or anything, but made sure to tell me that I didn’t look “weird” like other big breasted women do. She referred to my abdomen as “alarming” in referencing its size due to fibroids, commented that they were much bigger then before, called in a med student to look at me, and then scheduled ZERO follow up related to them. I feel like she really wants me to have surgery I don’t want. She referred to her practice as a “hobby”. Maybe that’s the problem. I left feeling ashamed of my body and concerned that my medical concerns are being dismissed. Looking for a new doctor.

I was insulted during the visit and a follow up phone call. Too shocked to understand the experience. Not sure where all the positive reviews come from.

Dr. Mirau is an excellent highly trained OB GYN. She has one of the few remaining solo practices in our area. She takes a personalized interest in each of her patients and delivers outstanding care. Dayton is fortunate to have this kind of caring attentive doctor. I would recommend her to anyone seeking either OB or GYN care.

Dr Mirau was awesome!. I was there for a pap and HRT postmenopausal. No woman likes a Gyn visit, but this doctor was friendly and tried to get to know me before proceeding with the exam. She put me at ease and was very understanding of my fear at being there. I would absolutely recommend her to other women. The office staff and nurse were also very sweet. A most dreaded appointment became a positive one!

D. Mirau has now delivered both of my children, and I could not be more thrilled! I have finally found a doctor that is in the business because she cares about her clients. If you want to move away from big business, run of the mill, get you in, get you out doctors and hospitals, see Dr. Mirau. Dr. Mirau does a fantastic job keeping up on how to best treat you and your situation, she sees and treats you as an individual ( as practicing medicine should be). She is very well educated, and spends time to enhance her knowledge as she practices. I know I am in good hands when I see Dr. Mirau, and that she has the best interest in mind when taking care of me, and my pregnancies. Pregnancy can be an overwhelming time, but Dr. Mirau is a kind, honest, intelligent aid/advocate to making it go as smoothly as possible.
