She is great! Addresses all my concerns and provides options. I love her directness and efficiency.

Dr. Park was really nice during my visit. She understood my concerns and responded well

She does not know how to talk to patients. Rude, condescending, arrogant. Doctors like her are the reason why medical schools need to do a better job weeding out the bad apples. I don’t know why she went into healthcare when she lacks compassion and insight. Her sloppy outfit reflects her ‘I don’t care to be here and don’t care what you think’ attitude. She must stain the practice I can only imagine how her colleagues feel.

No bedside manner: Has disdainful attitude towards patients. Left feeling terrible. Read the other reviews and avoid.

I am usually a patient of Dr. Aronavich, whom I really like, but she was unavailable so I decided to see Dr. Park instead. I will not be making that mistake again. *Trigger warning for sexual content / trauma* During my routine annual visit, I expressed my current medical concerns and Dr. Park did not seem engaged or interested at all. As I talked through my medical concerns, she did not make eye contact and seemed incredibly rushed, as if I were just another item to check off of her checklist. During my visit, she told me that I was giving her incorrect family history when I gave her my paternal cancer records (there are cancers on both sides of my family). She said to me with an attitude: "I don't care about that" because I guess certain cancers are irrelevant to her domain/GYN. I felt stupid, judged, and rushed. When it came time to my PAP exam, she gave me little warning and repeatedly told me to "relax" -- not giving me any warning for when she would begin the actual… physical procedure. This procedure is not usually painful for me at all, albeit it can be uncomfortable in the moment. Dr. Park was extremely aggressive, uncommunicative and once again, rushed during the procedure. I was wincing in pain and asked her politely if she could please slow down, but she kept insisting that I "just relax". In the moment, I felt like I was being overly sensitive and dramatic, but I really wish that she had given a moment to explain what she was doing before/during the exam (just to mentally guide and prepare the patient). Even an extra 10 seconds of breathing could have helped my muscles relax, but she was in a rush to complete the exam. A PAP exam is already an intimate and vulnerable experience, even if you have no traumatic sexual experiences. Dr. Park's lack of bedside manner, warmth and human connection made me feel unsafe, violated and confused. After she finished the procedure, I was silent, upset and in shock and she asked if I had any questions. I was immediately met with judgement when I asked basic follow-up questions. She dismissed my concerns with "you don't need to worry about that." I have never felt more ignored, objectified and violated before by a physician. I did not understand what I was experiencing emotionally during my visit because I was so in shock and just wanted to go home. After I checked out (the front desk staff are very friendly, by the way) I left the office in tears. I was unsure why I was having such a strong emotional reaction. I only later realized that I was not being dramatic and overly sensitive about my visit. I had just experienced a very unpleasant interaction with a care provider who was supposed to be caring, thoughtful, and competent during an already invasive and uncomfortable procedure. I had very valid questions concerns about my health, which I communicated kindly and clearly and Dr. Park was consistently dismissive, rushed, and unkind. I am not sure why Dr. Park chose to be a physician, as she seemed indifferent and annoyed during my entire visit. Additionally, Dr. Park's attitude and approach was a total 180 from every other physician I have seen at this practice. I really wanted to like Dr. Park, but it was impossible to connect with her. Overall, I felt totally uncared for and afraid to advocate for myself in her presence. For anybody who has experienced sexual trauma OR for people who prefer doctors who listen to their patients and exhibit kindness and empathy, I recommend that you ask for a different physician if you are scheduled to see Dr. Park.

I have immense pain during my exams. I see that other reviewers also agree that she is very condescending and downright mean. She told me that it didn’t really hurt. I probably imagined it. She said that I may have had a bad experience once and now it’s all psychosomatic. I told her that I have similar pain during some sexual positions and she just ignored that and didn’t reply. I also asked her about yeast infections. I told her that I get about 3 a year and it’s been that way for about 10 years. She said that I probably have diabetes. I told her that I go for annual check ups and that I had just been to my general doctor 3 months ago. Not that weight is always a predictor, but I’m 5’2” and weigh 120 pounds. I told her that my doctor probably would have mentioned if I had diabetes. Again, this has been going on for years and I had been to my doctor recently. She said that I should go back and get checked for diabetes. Now, let’s say I did develop diabetes in the 3 months… since I’d seen my doctor. How does that explain the infections prior? I also asked her if I might have endometriosis because of my pain. She told me “there is no way to tell“. No way to tell??? I’m with another doctor now. Helen Park is not only unprofessional, but also unable to help patients.

The way she speaks to becoming a mother is very rude. If you don't understand the word or procedure and re-ask her, she will give you a face like "don't ask me but search yourself"

So I've made a few visits now and I think I can write a proper review. Overall, I don’t have any very negative or very positive to say regarding Dr. Park. As a gyno, I’m happy enough going to see her. The first time I visited her, she did seem quite short and condescending. Especially as a new patient, I thought that the doctor would try harder to establish a relationship so as to have me return as a patient. However, beyond her manner of speaking, she still addressed my questions properly so I continued to see her. My subsequent visits with her were fine. She was very succinct and professional. Sometimes she didn’t clearly answer the question I was asking and sometimes I did feel that maybe she wasn’t understanding what I was asking but overall, she was thorough in addressing my concerns by the end of the visit. My biggest issue is with the receptionists. I visited Dr. Park while she was at New Hyde Park and then after she moved to Manhasset. The receptionist at NHP was short with… me and her tone was quite rude but she was never offensive. BUT the front staff at the Manhasset location are very rude. There are two ladies in particular that are horrible. And this isn’t just a onetime experience. As someone who worked as a medical receptionist and secretary in the past for four years, I find their behavior quite unprofessional and rude. They have an offensive tone of voice and immediate berate patients. In the end they are in the service industry. Unless the patient is being unreasonable, the best method is to be polite, assuage the patients, and explain everything thoroughly. If you hate it, don’t work there! It’s definitely not all the receptionists there but I’ve had enough issues. I’ll go back because I can brush it off, but my mother is definitely not going back. My mother had a horrible experience with the receptionists. And in the end, I was able to gauge that the main issue was their attitude. She arrived 1 hour early to her appointment. But she understands that being early doesn’t mean that they’ll see her early. She signed in and let the receptionist know that. They then had her wait until 7 minutes before her appointment to start filling out the paperwork. Just why? Why wait that long? Especially when there was no one else in the waiting room. Additionally, they provided her with the English forms instead of the Korean ones when Dr. Park clearly has Korean versions available. When my mother made a complaint about how they provided her the documents so late, she was informed that she shouldn’t complain since she still has 7 minutes to her appointment. There was no further explanation nor any apologies for providing the documents so late. Then the lady next to the receptionist started conversing with the receptionist stating “why is she complaining when her appointment didn’t even start”. This is very unprofessional. If you’re going to gossip, at least have the manners to wait until the patient is out of hearing. Since the receptionist kept bringing up the time, my mother went up exactly 7 minutes after her appointment started and asked when she’s going in. My mother is usually quite patient regarding doctor’s visits since she goes to several throughout the year. She was told that she “only waited 7 minutes”. In the end, she was upset because the receptionist was rude to her and kept acting as though my mother’s statements were unreasonable. As if a patient’s time is not valuable nor is it worthy of complaint. Additionally, the staff didn’t recognize the patient’s perspective. The entire situation would have been resolved if the receptionist simply stopped being snide and said “I’m sorry” and explained the situation. They don't even have the excuse of being too busy to properly talk with the patient. This is a service job and in the end, patients need to leave happy with the service received. My mother canceled her appointment and never returned. She has since switched doctors. Additionally, good luck when calling the office. It's a hit or miss whether you'll get the polite receptionists or the rude ones. I've been annoyed after talking to the rude receptionist before. As someone who can tolerate quite a bit (since I know the POV of working as a medical receptionist), this is saying a lot. The woman actually kept correcting my statements about insurance plans (and she was wrong) to the point I almost started arguing with her (and I know what I'm talking about since I handled the medical billing before). In the end, she clearly didn't know the information so I said goodbye and disconnected.

Receptionist is extremely unprofessional and arrogant. When she is asked a question she gets annoyed.

guyz who put negative comments on Helen, I absolutely agree with you guyz totally, especially with condenscending tone plus rude and showing no kindness by receptionalist. she treated me exactly samething thing. I think she is not really good ideal doctor but more likely to treat their patient more emotionally. if she feels disgratful from patient even though they did not meant to( such as cutting off her conversation in order to ask question) she is going to treat with certain attitude from start to end. also especially she does not like to be questioned no no no...period. so I would say do not go to her..!!!
