Dr. Helena C Nolasco, MD

Helena wrote off every one of my serious concerns and tried to blame them on absurd things like my age (only 35) and “carpal tunnel”. She told me that my symptoms must be treated individually by doctors specific to those areas because she doesn’t believe anything is autoimmune related unless the blood tests show her some more proof; which according to thousands of people in my auto immune support group simply is not true. Many people DO have symptoms for years BEFORE a positive RNP or antibody test. It might take a few more years for my markers to all show up as Helena would like, but in the mean time I know my body, and will find a new rheumatologist who agrees based off my severe symptoms and my positive ANA with nuclear speckled blood pattern suggesting MCTD, that I will need treatment before my organs deteriorate as well as my quality of life. Helena is either too lazy to figure it out, or doesn’t know what she’s doing. I wouldn’t trust her with my health.

I am extremely satisfied with my Dr Helena Nolasco. She’s patience, detailed, knowledgeable, goes the extra mile regarding my concerns, she’s always prompt, excellent follow- up, very personable. And definitely makes you feel that she cares. She’s The Best!!!

Dr. Nolasco is always late with no apologies. She has the attitude that it is OK for you to have to wait for her. She does not like to be questioned on why she thinks her diagnosis is correct even though you only have one symptom out of 10. She wants you to come back every couple of weeks to follow up on blood work. When you ask why you have to come in each time if the blood work is good, and let her know it is affecting your job having to continuously take time off from work she gets angry and says if you can't come in then find another Dr. Not willing to work with your personal life situation at all.

I have been a patient of the Doctors since 2005. One of my main issues is that she is always running late. I have waited numerous times in excess of an 1 hour before seeing her. Other than that I find her to be compassionate and thorough. I see numerous specialist and would like to see them communicate with each other about my conditions. Rather than relying on me to keep them up to date with what is going on with me. What is the sense of all these computer apps.

I have had 2 visits with Dr. Nolasco and both she had me in the waiting room for almost an hour. My first visit was long, which I expected, I did not expect her to be hemming and hawing about my diagnosis. She said a lot of "I think it's this or maybe this. " ok autoimmune issues are tough to diagnose... so the 2nd visit she asked me why I wasn't taking my disease seriously... I told her flat out I didnt know what disease I even had based on our last visit. I hadn't taken the medication she prescribed because I didnt have any information about it and I picked it up realizing I didnt know why is should be taking this .. I was honest with her that I wanted to know why I needed this medication and I wanted a proper diagnosis first. She said I gave you one last time. .. no she listed 3 potential autoimmune diseases.... that's it. Done with her. I am not arguing with an indecisive doctor.

Excellent professionalism, knowledge and attention to detail. Impressed by recall of small details from one appointment to another. Returns phone calls personally within a reasonable amount of time. Very much recommended!

I was referred to Dr Nolasco by my PCP. I was totally impressed with her attention to detail related to my medical history and the examination she gave me. Her professionalism and manor were exceptional. I would highly recommend Dr Nolasco to anyone in need of a rheumatologist.

Horrible personality and always is late. She gets argumentative and does not believe one is in pain regardless of almost being unable to walk. Has not made a correct diagnosis yet, but always wants a follow up visit to tell me “nothing changed” when you tell her the pain is worse.
