Dr. Hemamalini Pilla, MD

As a surgeon, I needed an OBGYN with experience and confidence. Dr. Pilla was exceptional- throughout my pregnancy and delivery. The delivery turned into an unplanned emergent c-section, and she was available the entire time, and acted quickly and safely. I am so grateful to have had her care and expert guidance. Would recommend to anyone.

I am a physician. Because of prior history of pubic symphysis separation and prolonged labor, I was very worried and had several concerns in mind, mainly timing of delivery and mode of delivery. Dr. Pilla made a clear and confident decision about timing and mode of delivery the very first time she saw me and she explained to me how this would overcome the issue. And it worked! She has vast experience with various situations women can be in and is well-versed with many procedures (including pelvimetry- an art that is dying out). She knows when and what to do- the right timing and patient for episiotomy, ICT placement, induction and C-section. Most remarkable of all, she is down to earth, wise and caring. After the delivery, she went out of her way and took time to give us valuable life-advice. I give my hearty recommendation and a well-deserved 5 star review.

From the very first time I met Dr. Pilla, she spoke to me in a way that no other doctor had before. She made sense of my medical situation. I finally understood what I was dealing with. Dr. Pilla is straight-forward but in a gentle and sincere way. I always felt comfortable asking her questions and talking to her about my concerns. She was extremely patient and seemed to understand me. I am typically anxious and can be annoying to health care providers. She never saw me that way. She reassured me that my course of action was right and that I would feel a whole lot better. She was correct. My situation was a bit complicated, but she was determined to see it through so that I may have the best course of recovery. I am eternally grateful and thankful to her. I would strongly recommend her to ANYONE!

Dr. Pilla has been my Dr. for about 8 years, has delivered both of my beautiful sons. I highly recommend her to all of my friends or anyone looking for an OB who knows what she's doing, while interacting with you in a warm and trusting way. With both, I had complications, but when she came into the delivery room, she was calm, confident, and took care of business. When it came to delivering my sunny-side up 1st born, there's no one else who could have handled the situation like she did. After pushing for over an hour, my mom and sister were crying in the room. She is somehow able to block out all of the craziness that is going on during delivery, and focus on what is best for the patient. When I had reached the point where I did not think I could go on, with my second son, she calmly talked to me in such a calming way (almost Zen-like) that I was suddenly able to calm down, breathe, and (literally) push through. In our house, Dr. Pilla is regarded with the utmost respect.

Our journey together wasn’t the best. She is very knowledgeable and I was very stubborn and wanted things my way. I changed doctors 4 times and I end up going back to Dr. Pilla when I realized its not her it’s me being impatient . Dr. Pilla is very educated and if you want things done correctly I highly recommend her. I been with Dr. Pilla for 4 years she delivered my second child recently and it was smooth sailing. She listened to my concerns and I listened to her concerns. Dr.Pilla is very patient and with every visits she has smile despite how her day is going. I love my doctor.

I wish I could give 100 stars! I cannot stress enough good things about Dr. Pilla. I regularly use Dr. Pilla for my well-woman check-ups and decided to continue using her for my first pregnancy and childbirth. I’m so thrilled that I did! She was very informative and thorough during every one of my pre-natal exams/appointments. I explored the option of a home birth using a mid-wife or giving birth at a natural mid-wife center. She explained her concerns with that option, with personal experiences, but never once discouraged that choice. Dr. Pilla remained supportive of my wishes, but assured me that her number one concern was a healthy baby and healthy mom. I decided to give birth in the hospital with Dr. Pilla and am very happy that I chose to do so. She was there for my entire birth, coaching myself and my husband through the delivery. She never once waivered, even though we had a couple scary moments I later found out. I was so comfortable with her and now have a healthy, happy baby… boy! I would never see another doctor and hope that she will be available for the rest of my children!

Dr. Pilla is great at explaining what is going on with you and makes sure you know your options for treatment. I recently had a laparoscopic hysterectomy due to severe Adenomyosis. Dr. Pilla fully explained the procedure, how to prepare & what to expect to me and my family. Surgery went great, and my recovery was easy & back to work in <10 days. Dr. Pilla is very personable, you don’t feel like just another patient. Dr. Pilla and her team are CARING professionals, I recommend Dr. Pilla Highly!

If you are pregnant for the first time and don't know what to expect during your pregnancy and you are eager to know everything about it, Dr. Pilla is NOT the best choice for you. I was newly pregnant and eager to know everything about signs symptoms, what and not to do during my pregnancy, Dr. Pilla, gave me very little of her time, and gave me a bunch of brochures and information for me to read, I asked her if I need to continue with my normal workout routine (which was very hard, I work out an hour daily) and she said to continue with my workout until my 7 month pregnancy that was ok. I lost my baby my baby came early, I believe with all of my heart if was because of the heavy stress I had put my body through my pregnancy, Dr. Pilla never asked me how hard and for how long I worked out daily, she simply gave me a bunch of information not related to what I could consider helpful to me personally. I had the worst year of my life during the lost of my baby, I'm happily pregnant again,… and my current Dr. not only gives me the time I deserve but also strictly said NO HEAVY work out at all, so for whoever is trying to find a good Dr. to help you during your pregnancy I will say go and look for someone else besides this Dr.
