Dr. Mixon received his undergraduate degree and attended Medical School at Tulane University in Louisiana. His internship, residency and fellowship were completed at Emory University Hospitals in Georgia. He has special interests in Crohnâ€™s disease and ulcerative colitis. Dr. Mixon joined the group in 1991.

He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Affiliations include the American College of Gastroenterology, the North Carolina Medical Society, the Forsyth-Stokes-Davie County Medical Society, the Crohnâ€™s and Colitis Foundation of America and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

DO NOT GO TO THS PROVIDER!!! Horrible bedside manner, can't admit to his mistakes and he will "brush you off" in a second if he does not want to answer your questions. I would not take my dead dog to him!!!

I really like Dr. Mixon. He was very thorough and spent the time it took to listen to my symptoms and then begin a treatment that restored me to better health. He has a very calming and caring manner. I would recommend him to my family members and friends without hesitation.

Caring and knowledgable doctor. He took the time to listen to my symptoms and spent over 30 minutes during our initial office visit. I was very happy with his care and results of treatment.

I had a very good experience with Dr. Mixon as my doctor. He was very caring and listened to all of my symptoms. He asked me a lot of questions and came to an accurate diagnosis. It was easy to make an appointment with him. I felt very comfortable. He helped me adjust my diet and gave me a lot of tips and helpful suggestions. I was very pleased with my experience and I could not ask for a more skilled and patient doctor.
