Dr. Herath Mudiyanselage Nirmal Wijerathna, MD

I only waited two or three minutes for her to arrive. She greeted me warmly and with respect. My last appointment was a check-in on a new Rx. She listened, took notes, and asked me logical follow up questions. It was obvious she is knowledgeable and keeps up to date. She asked me how I wanted to proceed with the medication rather than telling me what to do, I know this will not always be possible, but it was nice to be in control of my own health decisions. She feels like a partner in my health and wellness. My husband and I have been seeing Dr. Wijerathna for six months and look forward to working with her long-term.

Any time I need to schedule an appointment with Dr. Wijerathna they tell me it will be a 3-4 month wait. Even for a painful emergency they said I’d have to wait 10 days. Then when they book you in the calendar they tell you Dr. Wijerathna won’t be available and you’ll have to see a nurse practitioner— there’s no MD level care with Dr. Wijerathna. If you try to reschedule they rebook you another 3-4 months out and if you are more than 10 minutes late on the dot (even if you call beforehand and they tell you it won’t be a problem) they won’t see you and have to reschedule 3-4 months out. Horrible medical care. I will never be a patient there again. DO NOT PUT YOUR HEALTH IN THE CARE OF THIS PRACTITIONER.

Dr. Wijerathna is very thorough, making sure I am always getting the tests I need and following up with concerns that I bring up to her.

WORST DOCTOR EVER.

She really cares, and listens to your concerns. She even called me at home after the clinic was closed to talk about some test results!
