Dr. Herndon P Harding, MD

Dr. Harding treated me for Clinical Depression while I lived in the metro Orlando area. He was a good listener, but asked astute questions and helped me find the medication that worked best with my physical symptoms. Very grateful to have met and been treated by him. The staff was also always caring and supportive.

I wish I would have met dr Harding 20 years ago. I knew I had some depression going on, but could not pinpoint the scrambling thoughts I've always had, the lack of being able to gather my thoughts when I go to speak , no energy. Couldn't stay on task. A previous psychologist said I was clinically depressed and sent me to another psychiatrist about 8 years ago. Tried a couple of drugs but nothing was working. Finally got in to see dr Harding. After speaking with an attentive med student, I talked with dr Harding for well over my allotted time limit. He really had a knack for asking the right questions to zero in on my issues and discovered I have ADD. I'm 60 now and have been fighting this as far back as I can remember. He put me on a drug called adderall. It was like night and day. I'm thinking things through, my mind isn't scrambled. It was like I was seeing reality for the first time. It's Hard to explain, but I'm so thankful I found him. His staff introduced themselves to me and… were very helpful.

I was a patient of Dr. Harding for almost three years. Near the end of my time with him, before I switched to a psychiatrist with an actual desire for his profession aside from collecting payment, I explained to him that I was having three to four days of depression a month - which we did link to my period - and asked what could be done. In a nutshell he said nothing, and told me to basically 'deal with it'. My new psychiatrist, after spending over an hour with me, diagnosed PMDD, and I am prescribed a very low dose anti-depressant for just a few days per month. The difference this has made for my quality of life is indescribable, and I find it to be an absolute disgrace that Dr. Harding is parading around with a license to practice, whatever it is he's peddling masked by a medical degree. His staff lacks both knowledge or personal presence, and seem to think they too have medical licenses. Which actually makes a bit of sense, considering not one individual in that building has… legitimate medical knowledge. While still under his care, and suffering one of the days of depression, I called his office - and on Wednesdays he's not in the office, I spoke to Margie - and I was crying and told her I needed someone to talk to. Her response was "well, I can't help you dear - but do call the emergency room if you are considering hurting yourself - as your care is our number one priority" before she promptly hung up. As I'm no longer a patient, and have a new, very caring, doctor on my side - I am able to laugh at the magnitude of issues, both legal and otherwise, that I imagine this office will soon encounter. However, he is always promptly on time.

Dr. Harding has been a huge help to me. I started going to him for anxiety about two years ago. He knew right away how to treat me. He is always very nice and knowledgeable. The office is run better than any doctors office I have been to. If you have a question or need a refill they are very prompt and always willing to help. Dr. Harding is very knowledgeable on medications and current studies. I have recommended him to several friends.

Dr. Harding is a wonderful psychiatrist! Unlike others I have seen in the past, I never feel like he is just "going through the motions" when it comes to my visits. He spends the necessary time to listen to me and I never feel rushed. He shows genuine concern for not only my mental health, but also my overall well-being. He thoroughly explains all of the pros and cons of different medications that may be prescribed and solicits my opinion as to how I feel I will be able to deal with potential side effects. I am thankful that I have found such a caring doctor.

I've only been seeing Dr. Harding for a few months, but he has already begun to change my life in an amazing way. He cares about his patients, to a degree that I have never experienced with any other psychiatrist. For the first time in a very long time, I feel hopeful and ready for the future. (Oh, and his office staff is just wonderful!)
