Dr. Herschel Lessin, MD

I've been coming to Dr. Lessin with my kids for 20 years (and counting!) My son, 20 and my daughter 13. Moved to New Paltz and still travel to Pawling (hour drive) for yearly physicals. He's not only a doctor, but he's an educator and a great mentor. I recommend him to everyone in the Hudson Valley Region!

I originally chose The Children's Medical Group because of its numerous locations and expansive hours. I am extremely pleased to stay with the Children's Medical Group because of the personal and professional care delivered by Dr. Lessin. For the passed nine years, he has provided excellent care for my nine-year-old son and plenty of communication and advice for me, the concerned parent. His down-to-earth approach and sprinkles of humor make all visits extremely comfortable. His insights have always been spot on when it comes to my son's medical and developmental issues. Dr. Lessin has earned our trust completely!

Excellent doctor! I have 3 boys. He has been their primary care pediatrician since they were born. When one of my sons developed Asthma at 2, diagnosed by Dr. Lessin, he was very supportive in answering all my questions (since asthma was new to me) and educating me on the diagnosis and his care. He has since out grown his asthma. My oldest will be 21 and would continue to see Dr. Lessin if he provided adult care. I highly recommend Dr. Lessin. He is knowledgeable in his field and stays current with medical treatments, studies, vaccines, etc. as they pertain to children.

Thank you Dr. Lessin. I brought my children in for their physicals and was greeted with warm smiles and good vibes at the Pawling office. This is the reason why I decided not to find another pediatrician when we moved outside of the county. Dr. Lessin is so attentive and thorough, I can't convey my gratitude. I value his opinions because I felt respected and validated during that visit. My children are not just a chart but individuals and I am not just the person accompanying them but their mother with questions, concerns and opinions of my own. I felt like a part of the medical team and my thoughts and ideas are taken into consideration. All children grow and develop at their own pace but when your child isn't......well, it's nice to have a doctor that cares. I left the appointment with a prescription for lab work, a referral for my daughter and peace of mind. Though we have no results yet, I'm able to stay calm because I'm confident that she's in good hands and if needed … we'll take the necessary steps together.

I have three daughters; 12, 6, and 2, and Dr. Lessin has been seeing and treating them all along... More recently, the 2 year old has been very sick and has been back and forth between doctor visits and hospitals. For the most part, I schedule all of their appointments with Dr. Lessin, for reasons of continuity of care, comfort and familiarity, for the girls and myself. But Dr. Lessin takes it a step further; however he does it; because I know he is very busy all day with patients, he seems to make it a personal mission to make sure that my daughter has the best care. That she is seen by the right people, that every avenue is taken and option explored and exhausted, to make my baby well again. Not to mention the personal care and consideration he, and his nurses, give her in the office. She (and I) are often scared, and he does his best to put us both at ease and make us feel comfortable about the treatment she is receiving. Dr. Lessin is very attentive, conscientious, and… caring, not to mention very thorough and knowledgeable; all things essential in a pediatrician, and I would recommend him to anyone.

My son is 9 and has ONLY used CMG. I have seen a few different doctors, usually whoever is available, but when I have a real issue, Dr. Lessin is the one I prefer. When my son was an infant we kept coming in for a rash, but didn't realize until we saw Dr. Lessin that it was eczema. Most recently I have been having issues with my RX Coverage, the medicine that my son needs daily is VERY expensive, Dr. Lessin understood my issue and gave me a few alternatives, one of whom which has made a HUGE difference in my son's health and is cost effective! I absolutely recommend this doctor and am so happy that he is in the office that is most convenient for me!

Highly disappointed. My infant cried for hours on end and was uncolsolable. Dr. Lessin said it was colic. I came to the office many times concerned that she was very sick. He dismissed me. I changed doctors at 10 weeks of age. My child had severe reflux, severe food allergies, an immature vestibular system, a heart murmur, apraxia of speech, low motor tone. I am so glad I changed doctors. He would not listen to me. Mother's intuition is always right. Also, I had to ask the nurse and the doctor to wash their hands before handling my newborn. It was a horrible experience
