Dr. Hien Trong Truong, MD

I'm happy to have this chance to introduce myself and tell you about my practice. The many great colleagues and patients I work with make me feel privileged to be at Kaiser Permanente. I look forward to working with you too.

Biography
I grew up on the tropical island of Guam, a territory of the United States located in the Mariana Islands group in the Pacific Ocean. Because Guam does not have its own medical school, I was compelled to get my education here in the mainland United States. After 12-plus years of lengthy medical training, I eventually adopted Southern California as my new home. Though I still visit Guam on a regular basis, the Antelope Valley is now my new "desert island."

About my practice
My specialty is infectious disease, so I take care of patients with all types of infections. In the mornings, I am in the hospital seeing mostly critically ill patients. In the afternoons, I am in the clinic seeing patients in more routine consultations. Regardless of which …setting I am in, I strive to do my best for all my patients and their families.

How I thrive
I get together with several colleagues and play tennis on a regular basis. This allows us to stay connected outside of work and get some exercise at the same time. I also read to stay current with the news and medical developments. I particularly enjoy reading the Los Angeles Times on Sunday mornings at the local coffee shop—you might see me there!
