Dr. Hilary Evans, MD

Horrible bedside manner. His website profile says he wants patients to feel comfortable to talk to him about our concerns. This is such a joke. He doesn't care. Suspecting he is paid by the hospital so very easy for these type of doctors to not care and move on to the next patient because he will get paid anyway. I will tell my doctor friends now to refer anyone to him. Major fail.

I would not even begin to call him a doctor & If I could, I would not give him a star. He has a very poor bedside manner & clearly does not want to get involved with anything complicated with the patient. An internist treats and helps a patient. I asked him a question about my future care with pre diabetes and trying to avoid diabetes- I have a side effect I have had off and on after the birth of my third child. If my A1C is elevated, I have gotten candida in my mouth, breast and vaginal thrush. It's very painful. I can see it and I can feel it. It's very simple to treat with Diflucan. He said to me-" Don't come to me for help with that. I will not help you or treat you. I mean I don't know how to soften the blow. I am not your guy to help you with that." He also seemed angry that I asked the question and was genuinely concerned for my future health. Unbelievable & so very arrogant. I have never been spoken to like that by any doctor. My father is a physician - an internist- who… goes above and beyond and has great compassion for his patients. As a child, I went in rounds and witnessed how a real doctor treats his patients. Not only that, I have seen his colleagues do the same. I am ashamed that Spartanburg had a doctor like this treating people and calling himself a doctor. He seems to just want his paycheck and 6 month visit check up and no responsibility whatsoever with anyone. It's truly truly sad. I will go elsewhere for a real doctor who has compassion and who will treat me as a patient. A doctor who take his Hyppocratic oath seriously does just that- treats and takes his patients seriously and wants to help them. Do not see this person, as we age, we will have issues come up & this is not the doctor for any complicated issues.

I have been a patient if Dr Evans for five years and find him very easy to talk with, readily available by appointment or phone, a great staff, and knowledgable.

I've worked with many doctors over the years in the healthcare field - I found Evans to be less than communicative with little compassion. He refused to work with my husband's home-health agency or with his insurance company to get him the medical equipment he needed because he felt it was "a waste" of his time. My husband needed a note that would have taken two minutes to write and he didn't "want to get involved." My husband's health deteriorated under his care, and I would not recommend him.

very pleasant to work with

I am 62 yrs old and Dr. Evans has been my family Dr. For the past 12 years. He is excellent. If he doesn't consider himself the best person to meet your needs he does not hesitate to help you get to the person who is. Dr. Evans literally saved my life through his fast action to deal with a blood clot I had in a lung. Nobody's perfect but Dr. Evans is as close as I have found in doctor.

He does not seem to have care for patients, and must not thoroughly examine charts in order for proper diagnoses and help for an individual with a serious illness. Dr. Finch was much more caring and understanding.

As a pediatrician, I obviously have high standards for choosing my personal physician. Dr. Evans is a competent and caring professional. He has a great reputation among physicians in the community. I readily recommend him whenever my patient's parents ask about an "adult" doctor for themselves.
