Dr. Horacio Gabriel Schapiro, MD

Office staff and management is absolutely awful. Their insurance processing is in a word terrible. Dr. Schapiro is indifferent to the concerns when raised perhaps because the office manager is his wife. I found his staff's behavior unacceptable including: * E-mail not responded to. * Phone not being answered during business hours (not even to voice mail). * Phone messages that do go to voice mail not being returned. * Phone calls being talked over and hung up on. * Rude and arrogant staff who attempted to pass me onto your third-party billing office even though your billing statements say to call your office. * Insurance claims not being filed for almost a year. * Insurance claims being submitted with completely incorrect, old and inactive insurance policies to the wrong insurance company. * Records not being updated with new and accurate insurance policies despite the new insurance policies for my husband and me being given several times (by e-mailed to the office, called in… to the office and photo copied and given at the office during an appointment). I updated my insurance (and that of my husband) three times with the same information. * Third-party vendors you engage with (like Quest Diagnostics) not being given updated insurance resulting in aged billing and delayed payments. * Small payments made at the office for balances that no one could explain at the office what the balance was for or for what the dates of service were for. * Third party billing company had my medical records and payments hacked and got no notification from Doctor's office or the third party billing company as required by law. * Office doesn't know how to or want to take checks or credit cards. They prefer cash payments for co-pays, which seems extremely suspect. Will never go back. Do NOT recommend this office.

He is professional, knowledgeable and a very kind person.

What you can ask more if not, when you go to doctor, to be assisted with prompt appointment, welcomed with smile and courtesy by the reception and the office, and to finish the visit with the great personality of a doctor Schapiro who gives you confidence that you are in right hands, and who cares of you very personal. I am very thankful being his patient and encourage everyone who cares to be respected and appreciated to visit the office of Dr. Shapiro.

He is prompt, gracious and knowledgeable. His staff is great too.

Dr. Schapiro is an okay doctor but he is always in a hurry. I also have a problem with his office staff every time I go into his office. I have never had a doctor whose front office staff was so rude and incompetent. I always have to wait for seemingly no reason, even if I am the only one in the waiting room, which makes no sense. I like him as a person and a doctor, but am tired of the receptionist/front office issues.
