Dr. Hosam Mohammed Attia, MD

Dr. Hosanna Attia saved my detached left retina. He is a no nonsense physician that restored my vision and with time hoping for continued healing and improved vision. He gave strict instructions that I followed to the tee because I trust his competencies as a physician. He is located at Shah Eye Center in Mission, Texas.

I went for a second opinion since my first visit the specialist didn’t since the urgency and i was scheduled to undergo surgery 3 weeks later. Dr Attia treated me as if it was his own eye. He was very confident, comforting and spent the time explaining the procedure and answering my questions. He is an excellent retina specialist and would highly recommend him for anyone needing attention for your retina.

I like the way he listens to me. I also like how he explains everything to me. .. I like that he shows me pictures of what was,what is and what can be. I feel very confident that he is helping me so much. His assistant is also very informative and I feel very cconftable.

I am so thankful to Dr. Attia for his skill and patience with me. I was hesitant and nervous about my procedure. Dr. Attia not only put my mind at ease, but my procedure was over before I knew it with zero pain or discomfort. I hope I don't need another procedure, but if I do, Dr. Attia is my only choice. Thank you once again to Dr. Attia and his staff....it is rare that you can put so much trust in another person's efforts, especially when it comes to your health!

It's refreshing to know that there are doctors who still care. Dr Attia is one of the most caring doctors I have ever had the privilege to meet. He is very knowledgeable, compassionate and patient. He never got tired of my endless questions. He made me feel very comfortable and took time to explain the procedure (vitrectomy) and the risks associated with it. Overall, he truly goes above and beyond for his patients. Thank you for taking excellent care of me!

It is rare to find a doctor that goes above and beyond. This doctor calls you on the phone on the weekends to make sure everything is ok. He takes the time of explain and asks if you have any questions. He put me at ease and explained the risks and procedure for surgery.

Dr.Attia is knowledgeable, and you feel this when you first meet him. He also cares about you and your long term condition. If you have an eye problem, I would highly recommend Dr. Attia

While vacationing in Naples I contracted a bacterial infection in my left eye. I have been fortunate to have been a patient of the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN for many years and have been blessed to have, what I consider to be stellar eye care. I went immediately to a Doctor in Florida as soon as I realized I was in trouble, the first Doc I saw missed the bacteria and diagnosed My condition as a Florida allergy. I was relieved temporarily only to realize two days later the condition was more serious. I returned to the clinic and was then bounced around from specialist to specialist until being referred to Dr. Attia's competent care. Dr. Attia recognized the severity of the condition and dove into treating the condition with skill, brilliance, compassion and a sense of urgency. Dr. Attia saw me every day for weeks until he was confident the condition was reacting to the course of the intense treatment. Only after surgery, multiple ultra sounds, conference calls to colleges and… forward motion did Dr. Attia ok me to travel back to Minnesota to complete the healing and further treatment. I am now confident that I am on the path to well being and I know without doubt It is due to Dr. Attia's accurate diagnosis, treatment, and degree of concern. I would put him on the top of my "best docs list" , and I've been blessed to have had excellent physicians care for me throughout the last 61 years. I cannot thank Dr. Attia enough, and would strongly recommend him for any difficult eye condition. There are something's that cannot be taught in medical school, compassion I believe is innate and Dr. Hosam Attia has the knowledge paired with the innate concern for his patience that is rare. Dr. Attia continues to follow my condition and is available to assist my Mn. team. I will always be grateful and wish him the very best in the future.

Excellent and caring examinations, treatment, and follow up visits. Dr. Attia thoroughly explained all options, risks and what I specifically had to do afterwards. He performed a vitrectomy under general anesthesia, which led to a successful re-attachment of my retina after four days of remaining quite still in one position. I will always be grateful for his skill and caring manner during what was a scary and unexpected situation with my eye.

My husband developed a severe eye infection following cataract surgery and was referred to Dr. Hosam Attia. Dr. Attia saw him immediately and continued to see him frequently, at times daily, over the next several months. Dr. Attia was always kind and explained every scenario and treatment option to both of us. Dr. Attia would call my husband in the evening and on weekends to check on his response to treatment. He made himself available after hours providing my husband with the reassurance he needed. My husband never felt that he was just another "number/case". During the past year and a half, Dr. Attia has done several procedures including lens removal and dealing with a detached retina... all to save the vision in my husbands eye. Dr. Attia's personal integrity is projected in his attention to detail and his concern for both his patient and we who are the family.... for this we will be forever grateful. Thank you Dr. Attia!
