Dr. Howard Leon Bruckner, MD

He has been rude to my mother and very impatient, so I decided to go along with her on her follow up appointment. He spoke very condescending to her, she is 82 y/o. He was not only insensitive to her reflexively shying away from the piece that he put up to her eye. He kept ordering her to "stay" as if talking to a dog. Then he poked her forehead with his index finger as he was sarcastically telling her to K-E-E-P Y-O-U-R H-E-A-D here. In the less than 5 minutes we were in the room with him he was insulting, insensitive, and bullying. When I asked him if he treats all his patients like this he responded by saying "Only the special ones" as if questioning her intelligence. I got up to leave and he then ordered us to "Get out!" I do not understand why he is still in practice, but by the looks of his facilities one could surmise that he may not be doing quite so well (outdated and shabby-looking). No one should have to go to a Dr. who acts like that! He was a complete and absolute… BOOR!

Rude, seemed impatient, was there two and a half hours. Was grossly overbooked and I heard two patients reschedule saying they could not wait any longer. One even said he would come back when they were not overbooked. He started my exam, a member of his staff and came in and said something to him and he left and came back some 15 minutes later then rushed me through the exam. I did not have cataracts but chose to have Crystalens put in by a optomoligist in Columbia in 2008.. He argued with me saying I had cataract surgery. While he was telling me his “philosophy” I wanted to say something, he held his finger up and gave me a stern look. I am 81 years old and I have never had a doctor treat me in such a manner. I am sure he is very knowledgeable but I would not recommend him.

Dr. Bruckner is only concerned about paying for the laser he bought for his office. Do not go to this doctor. He is incompetent and uncaring.

Wow. I read some negative reviews and can't believe them. This guy is personable, warm, happy, and very competent. He has taken care of my mom and has been fabulous with me. He is accurate, has a great beside manner, and even sometimes sings while he operates.

Rude, nasty, and is not good with patients. He need to retire. He did surgery on my mom eyes and now everything she see is blurry and its getting worse by the day. He laughs at her when she explains what she is seeing and going through. I would not take my dog in to get treatment from him.

Dr. Bruckner is the worst. There are so many better doctors, why in the world choose this rude, hateful jerk?
