Dr. Howard Jay Hoffman, DDS

Dr. Hoffman is considered the original sedation dentist in
the Miami area. He has extensive training and decades of experience
with oral conscious sedation dentistry. In his practice, he uses sedation
techniques for two reasons:

You take
a little pill just before you come to our Aventura office. Your fears will evaporate
into thin air. As an added bonus, many patients say they actually
forget their entire experience.
The time spent in the dentist chair will feel like mere minutes. Of
course, everyone's experience is different.

While treatments are being
…performed, you will be closely and constantly monitored with
high-tech medical equipment. Additionally, Dr. Hoffman and/or one
of his experienced dental assistants will be at your side the entire time.
Not only is sedation dentistry pain-free and stress-free, it is extremely
safe!
Preparation – before your actual appointment
• 12 hours before your appointment, you are not allowed food or drink (water is the exception)
• The mild sedative will be taken in tablet form just before your appointment. This has a calming and relaxing affect on you
• Please arrange to have someone drop off and pick you up from your appointment. You will not be able to drive
Appointment day
• Your treatment won't begin until you are completely relaxed
• If you require further sedation, another pill will be made available
• Not only will someone will be with you at all times, but your blood pressure and pulse will constantly be observed
Follow-up
• Please ensure you have a ‘ride' home following your appointment
• You will be unable to work for the remainder of the day
• You will have little or no memory of your treatment
• Ask for assistance when you require it. Basic common sense should prevail
