Dr. Howard Neil Robinson, MD

"I've been struggling to wrap my head around whether Dr Robinson is good or not. He's likable and listens, so it's hard to say bad things. That said, he does a once over on me every year and completely missed skin cancer. Once he was done, I asked him to take a second look at an area he glanced over. He immediately said it was a heavy concern. Tests came back that I had skin cancer. Had I not mentioned it, would I be here? It was luckily in the early stages and supposedly gone after many visits of cutting/freezing. That was incredibly bothersome to me. He had me on medication for a long period of time that he kept saying I shouldn't be on any longer, but kept me on anyway. I trust my doctors as you should too. So all of that bothered me. I've always recommend Dr Robinson until that skin cancer slip-up. He's human, but I'm trusting him with my life. All of that said, his office staff is nice in person (though the wait time is very lengthy), but awful on the phone. The equipment and… offices look like you're walking in the office 20 years ago (which always made me wonder if I should go elsewhere). To add on to me knowing that from dealing with them for years, I just recently received a letter in the mail that Dr Robinson will no longer see me due to not paying a bill from 8 months ago. I can tell you that I've never received a phone call about this bill and if I've ever received a bill in the mail, I paid it. I have a benefits card that has use or lose money on it. I have excellent credit and a good paying job. I've always paid my bills with them. I've called multiple times now and have left two messages. No one is returning my calls. If they read this, hopefully they'll finally take my payment. I've never had such a hard time paying a bill. You'll read this thinking there's more to the story, but there's not. It's just incredibly odd. I simply would not recommend."

although an excellent physician, every single appt. I wait at least 45 min to 1 hour in the waiting room. For 15 years, whenever I ask about the long wait, I am always told there was an "emergency". I realized he overbooks, because I ask patients, and 2 or 3 have MY same appt. time!

I had had colon cancer. I went to Dr. Robinson and he told me that there was a link between colon cancer and I believe melanoma (or one of the skin cancers, maybe carcinoma). He did a full body exam and found hyperplasic cells (pre-cancerous cells). Had I gone to my regular dermatologist, I would be dead by now. Ever since, I have gone every 6 months to Dr. Robinson's office. Yes, he does get backed up, but that is because he is so highly recommended by other doctors. What he lacks in bedside manner (he is not into chit chat), he more than makes up in competency. If you want a quack to hold your hand and be a smooth talker, don't go to Dr. Robinson, but if you want a highly competent physician, Robinson is your doctor!

I arrived 15 minutes early for my appointment. The waiting room had almost 30 people waiting with no seats available. After an hour I went up to the front desk and asked how long till he can see me. It was going to be another 30+ minutes for at least a 90 minute wait. Obviously, this office needs better management and respect of patient's time. You shouldn't rush through this type of serious examination. I'll just pick the next dermatologist.

I went in with severe hives. My internal doctor sent me to a dermatologist, because Predisone did not work. I went to see Dr. Robinson Howard. He wanted to see me the same day, so I had to leave work on a drop of a dime and go. The small room that I was put in was filled with me, the doctor, some staff and a intern. I was told to take Allegra. We are trying to rule things out, so he told me to call L'Oreal (possibly a reaction to hair color) to request a patch test. I called L'Oreal, as soon as I left his office. L'Oreal gave me a reference number to give to my doctor. The doctor's office was suppose to fax the request on office letter head with the ref. # and the name of the color I use. I called the doctors office after I got of the phone with L'Oreal with the reference number, color and instructions. This place 2 weeks ago. I went on vacation and when I got home I called L'Oreal to find out if they sent the patch test. I was told that the doctors office never followed… up. In the meantime I still have hives. They need to get it together and I will not go back there.

Came for my annual appointment because of skin cancers in the past. Right away I was taken back to a room by an extremely friendly girl who asked about my medical history and if anything was bothering me. Dr Robinson came in and asked about my father who is also a patient! So nice to see someone who remembers patients and goes the extra mile to show that they care by providing services beyond dermatology. Dr Robinson is what every doctor and health care provider should aspire to be. Love the staff and facilities.

I have seen Dr. Robinson a great number of times. He saved me from a fatal melanoma. He was extremely efficient. The man saved my life. I read a couple of the negative comments, and I have to say none of what written is true. His Physicians assistants are courteous, and are strictly supervised by Dr. Robinson. No one is gossipy, as Dr. Robinson seems to run a tight ship. There can be a wait, because he is the best dermatogist in the state. As for bedside manner, I will state that he does not talk to the patient about anything but their medical problem. I would rather have a competent doctor that saved my life rather than a chatty Kathy that ignores my symptoms and let's me die.

Dr. Robinson functions at the highest level...been a patient for many years. His knowledge base is enormous and he is called upon to mentor young physicians at major hospitals. His staff are tops and I know he has saved lives due to vigilance and caring for his patient needs.

I have been seeing Dr. Robinson for years. He is very thorough and cautious with monitoring moles and is very good with other skin conditions. I have always thought that he included me in decisions, and he always explains things to me. He can be very personable and he has a subtle sense of humor which contributes to good "bedside manner." His practice is very very busy, so you may have to wait. best advice - get an appointment early in the morning or try to be first appointment after lunch when your appointment is more likely to be on time.

Your total time spent with the Dr. Robinson is approximately 5 minutes. He looks at your area if concern, tells the nurse in the room what notes to write, and tells the Physician Assistant what to use for treatment that she will perform. He doesn't want to heat any questions from you and is very abrupt. He is out the door in a flash and you are left with the Physician Assistant who doesn't want to hear your concerns or questions. She even told me, "Stop talking, no more questions. The waiting room is packed and he has a revolving door with no bedside manner at all. His partner, Joel Max is the same way.
