I first started seeing Dr. Segal when I was 12 years old for severe and debilitating panic disorder, depression, generalized anxiety disorder, OCD, chronic derealization, and PTSD. I couldn't function; I was unable to leave my bed, go to school, and have a normal childhood. I was lucky enough to have him on my medical team for over ten years, throughout my pregnancy at 21, and after the birth of my son at 22. (Unfortunately, due to insurance issues, I had to switch to Medicaid clinics.) He is not a doctor who just prescribed medication. He takes the time and effort to really get to the bottom of any issue and works with you as a team to create, and alter as needed, a personalized treatment plan. After 6 years of suffering again through clinics with doctors who didn't remember me every month I walked in, I am hoping to return to the only psychiatrist who took the time and effort to really get to know me and understand me. Dr. Segal's office is comfortable and welcoming. I… recommend him to any child or adult struggling with functioning in life due to any mental ailment. He makes himself available to contact in emergencies and really listens to what YOU feel is working or not. He is someone you can be entirely honest with, answers any questions you may have with complete patience and understanding, and will research with you every option. So importantly, Dr. Segal is also like a therapist. Without Dr. Segal, I don't believe I would have survived, nor would I have found quality in my life. To this day, he is still the very best psychiatrist I have ever worked with. I was so lucky to be referred to him. He gave a 13 year old with no will to live the tools to turn her life around and learn to function with these conditions. Thank you, Dr. Segal!
