If you’re looking for a surgeon with excellent bedside manner, look elsewhere. If you want a surgeon who will explain everything to you and will perform a top-notch service that will eliminate your problem, this is the doctor wants. Dr. Senter performed 2 surgical procedures on m, and those times he explained that it was not a permanent fix and that degenerative arthritis was always going to follow me. I’m not paralyzed, and I have a good quality of life, thanks to Dr. Senter

I have had back problems for over twenty years and he is the only doctor that has done things that have made me feel better. Anyone with back problems needs him to make there life better.

Met Dr Senter in ER. Told me I needed surgery and sent me home for one week. When I came out of surgery I could not walk. Went to Dr Bonarati who operated ten days after first surgery. At this point I needed a fusion While recovering from second surgery received letter from Dr Senter indicating okay to return to work. He never saw me after he operated on me. Stay clear of this man

Dr Senter preformed back surgery on me bc of a cyst on my spinal cord. Because of his inadequacy, I required a second surgery 3 weeks later to fix his mistakes. I now suffer from Failed Back Surgery Syndrome which is more painful than the original condition. I can barely walk and suffer terrible pain daily. Aside from his incompetency, he is arrogant, impatient and extremely uncompassionate. Heed my warning. Do not put your back and life in his hands.

I saw Dr Senter a number of times during multiple hospital stays - he always explained everything well and answered any questions I had. My surgery and follow up appointment went well, and his office and support staff were excellent.

I saw this man for a second opinion for a surgical procedure at the insistence of my insurance provider. This man was rude and wouldn't allow me to finish sentences. He was the most arrogant person I've ever spoken to. He slandered my primary surgeon, whom works for a major teaching center, stating he didn't know what he was talking about. He said all of this prior to evaluating me or looking at a copy of the films I had in my hand. He obviously was driven by demands of the insurance company.

never have been treated as poorly or spoken too in a degrading way. made me feel like my problems were not in need of his time. uninterested in hearing my conditions. would not refer in any way.

He did my cervical discectomy and he was absolutely fabulous

Dr. Senter appears to be very knowledgeable and expert. But he was not very patient with my elderly father who happens to be sharp and intelligent, but in extreme pain. He was put off at the first appointment by the doctor's dismissive approach. So were we. However, we did go through with the surgery and he did correct one of two major problems. However, the other problem, stenosis, has only become worse post surgery and it's been 6 months since. Also, he recommended a series of steroid injections with another "partner" doctor, and my father suffered a stroke post the injection because his return to blood thinners was not managed well due to his UPMS cardiologist and the Allegeny team not being in contact! You have to keep wtihint the same network it seems in Pgh or you run the risk of serious health side effects! It is so important for patients to feel they are being cared for and not just another patient. We are now seeking another opinion, even though the doctor did take good care… of the one problem well. There needs to be a comprehensive approach with elderly patients and there has to be hope conveyed even if the root problem cannot be actually fixed with surgery. His office staff was excellent, by the way.

My family has never gotten over Dr. Senter's exceptionally rude treatment of my Father, who was a well respected physician. While Dad thought highly of Dr. Senter's medical knowledge and skills, he was appalled by his arrogant and demeaning behavior. Dr. Senter should be as ashamed of himself to the degree to which we are upset by his complete lack of courtesy to his elderly colleague and patient. Dr. Senter did not even have the good grace to extend condolences to my Mother in an encounter where she informed him of Dad's demise.
