Dr. Howard Brian Smith, MD

Patient for over a decade. Meds supervision has been excellent. Dr. Smith and his office have worked carefully with my insurance over the years, including when they have had to go several rounds with them after I switch carriers and have to get medications re-approved. Time window is generally accurate, especially since telemedicine came in, but even before that the wait was rarely long, and when it was, I was in the unusual situation of knowing that it was because the doctor does not rush people when they are talking to him. He has been very helpful and supportive over the years, and when we have needed to treat my medicine he is very clear about what it may or may not be able to do and what to look out for. Since changing practices, the front office management is much better as well, as is the reminder system. I feel heard at every visit.

My son is currently seeing Dr. Smith and he is giving him so many drugs that my son can't even function! He is on uppers than downers, I am very concerned about this doctor!

I hate Howard Smith so much! 2021 he decides to get rid of his patients that are in a crisis the patient(s) did not cause, & he is so old now, he seriously should dye his hair black to cover up his gray hair & not look like an elderly grandpa. 2010 he looked nice, and now he looks ?? I have been a patient since 1998 and was recently in a crisis due to mania- induced from a steroid shot. Therefore, he fired me. Is that, fair, or even right? Because it does not feel like it. I do not want to be a patient of a doctor's who's countertransference was negatively affecting their ability to help me, hindering judgment so much so much so as to go so far and fire me. Negative countertransference. Perhaps it was meant to be, yet I feel so hurt, because did he even solve the crisis? No, he made it worse.

I was feeling very bad when I visited Dr. Smith due to a recent sense of outrageous abuse by a dealership against me which had stirred old emotional pains.... Dr. Smith was extremely compassionate, patient, professional, and helpful; I'm under his treatment now and hope to regain my trust in life under his care and that of his therapist. His office also offers a harmonious ambiance, and the receptionist is nice. Thank you.

Dr Smith really helped me with my lifelong anxiety and constant depression. He referred me to a great counselor and then sees me every four or five months to check on my meds and on me!! I’m so so thankful I was referred to such a caring professional. It has changed my life. Forever grateful for Dr Smith.

LOW INCOME PATIENTS BEWARE. If you fail to cancel within 24 hours he will charge you hundreds of dollars regardless of your financial situation or any mental health crises you are going through. His office is also extremely bad at calling back or answering the phone, so you better hope you make your appointment. So sad to see doctors caring more about money than patients.
