Dr. Howard Weiner

Dr. Howard Weiner has an amazing gift as a neurosurgeon and person that he is sharing with children diagnosed with epilepsy and their families. He gives each family hope and empowers you with information when you are terrified of epilepsy surgery on your toddler. He is by far, one of the best physicians we have ever met and he gave us our daughter back with so much less suffering and seizures after craniotomy and resection. We would cross mountains and oceans from our daughter, and we travelled thousands of miles 5x to Texas Children's Hospital for Dr. Weiner and his team. We spent more time in Texas than we did in SoCal (where we live) because we believe Dr. Weiner is the best neurosurgeon in the world for children with our daughter's condition. The only regret we have is not coming earlier.

The Doctor is amazing. The staff in insensitive and unempathetic.

Dr. Weiner has been a God-send for our infant daughter. He is experienced, knowledgeable and above all CARES about the patient and their family. He is incredibly talented and well respected amongst his peers. He came highly reccomended from our child's neurologist as well as a patient he had previously operated on. I would not take my child to another surgeon under any circumstance! We drive nearly 4 hours to see Dr. Weiner for all the reasons above. His nurse practioner, Michelle, is also an awesome help and very knowledgeable. As a team they really take their time to make you feel comfortable, informed and help you make the best decisions for your child. The only change I would make is to the secretarial staff. The front desk staff is often aloof or rude, they had a young neice in there during one visit, where the child continued to play with a "singing bass" on repeat - very annoying when you are trapped in a small space with no other form of distraction for 30-40 minutes while… waiting to be seen!
