Dr. Hsiao-Ping Hu, MD

Dr. Hu has been a phenomenal pediatrician for our children. Our second baby was hospitalized at two weeks old and has given us more than one scare since then. The compassion and level of care we have received from Dr. Hu and his staff has been so appreciated during these moments. Highly recommend him and his practice. Our community is so lucky to have his experience and kindness

Dr. Hu is an excellent pediatrician. He is very caring and knowledgeable. His office staff is also very helpful and friendly.

When our youngest was 2 weeks old she got very sick. Rushed to the ER. They had to do a spinal tap and blood work. The doctor on call (Dr. Hu) didn’t like our daughters numbers that came back. He admitted her and we were blown away immediately. He went above and beyond for our baby. We have never felt so secure in somebody with their medical opinion. (And I question everyone) We were so impressed we asked to have him be our Primary. He accepted our family into his practice and we have been seeing him for the past 8 years now. Our oldest at the time was 3. She’s loved him ever since. Our girls refuse to see anyone else. And I mean refuse. He makes them feel safe. He takes the time at each appointment to ask them how life is. He listens to all of my concerns no matter how busy his office is outside of that room. His staff is very complimentary and accommodating to my entire family. They know I’m a bit of a germ freak. When the girls were young, especially our youngest, he never made us… wait in the waiting room with the other sick children. He took us back to a clean room ASAP. He has gone above and beyond for is on many different occasions. He’s even called us over the weekend when one of our daughters had a walking pneumonia to educate us on what to look for throughout the night. Knowing how worried I was. He wasn’t even the on call doc that weekend. I am that mom that always fears a vaccine reaction. He has educated me so many times without making me feel like a crazy person. Or pushing anything on me. We like to say he gives our girls the million dollar workup. He never misses a thing. We always joke if he ever moved we would follow. He’s such an intelligent man who truly cares for each of his patients. Thank you Dr. Hu and staff for your patience, kindness and support for Ella and Ali always. Dr. Hi is amazing and his staff is great. Very little wait time and always same day appointments. He is very knowledgeable and tell you exactly what you need to hear to be comforted when you child is sick. His staff is always amazing with kids makes them feel safe and comfortable when you are there.

Dr. Hu has been caring for my kids for over 12 years, He has been so good with my children and both my 13 year and 3 year enjoy seeing him. He has provided us with the best care. Thank you, Dr. Hu

I really like that Dr. Hu is easy to get in to see. The wait is always short and the staff is always nice. Dr. Hu is very intelligent and kind and cares about the well fair of his patients. The only reason I only give them 4 stars is because sometimes he seems in a hurry. I think he is great but his bedside manner can be a tad mechanical. Though, the longer i go to this office, the more i like them :)

We started seeing Dr. Hu two years ago after giving birth to a baby 25 weeks premature. Upon leaving UC Davis NICU I conducted phone interviews with many pediatricians in the area to see who would be best equipped to accommodate the needs we had bringing home a special needs baby. This included oxygen and pulmonology concerns as well as monitoring an Brain hemorrhage and addressing any developmental delays. Dr. Hu and his staff showed a continuum of care that exceeded all expectations. They are always willing to get us in for same day appointments even if it's not an emergency. Dr. Hu is always very sure to explain things to me regarding my child's health and addresses all my concerns. He has also educated me on the positives and negatives of all vaccines without pushing his opinions. Lastly he has advocated to get my son the assistance he needs with developmental delays. We just had a second child 6 weeks ago and Dr. Hu has shown her the same exceptional care from the time we were in… the hospital to now. I highly recommend Dr. Hu and his staff for patient education, patient advocating and all pediatric services.

As the parents of micro premie twins, my husband and I can not be more pleased with our decision to have Dr. Hu as our pediatrician. Upon discharge from the NICU, Dr. Hu met with us promptly to establish a baseline with our twins, asking us about their history while making it clear that we were valuable members of their healthcare team. He takes the time to thoroughly address and concerns we have, never making our appointment feel rushed. We appreciate the fact that he always stressed that he has same day appointments available and that he is willing to help us in any way he can. He is exactly the pediatrician we want helping us care for our two miracle babies.

I am so grateful we selected Dr. Hu, after many referrals to a few different pediatricians, he was our choice for our twin babies. Not only is Dr. Hu thorough, he was so sensitive to our silly questions and worries those first few weeks. Being accessible as he is, by phone or same day appointment is so important to us, and has proven to be a life saver. At a young 5 months old we experienced our first cold, my baby boy was noticeably worse and we were in between insurance plans at the time. This was such a scary time for us, and Dr. Hu and his staff were so accommodating, they always put our babies needs first. Not only was he financially accommodating, he even loaned us some equipment I wouldn't otherwise have access to, without my normal insurance. We will be patients or Dr. Hu's for years to come, I can't say enough great things about him, and his staff. We love and appreciate them all!

Dr. Hu was recommended to me by my sister-in-law who is a GP. When our first child was born he had an infection and was immediately admitted to the NICU. Dr. Hu was extremely attentive and saw the challenges I was having trying to nurse and had my son transferred to the pediatrics unit so I could stay with him 24 / 7. Our second son had a much smoother birth but developed RSV at age 2. It was a scary time. Dr. Hu went above and beyond to get us the care we needed. Our care has been top notch!! I can't say enough!
