Dr. Hugh Scott Pharies, MD

We waited 2 1/2 hours to see the doctor. But, that wasn't even the main concern. I do not mind having a long wait for a good doctor. I know busy offices often run behind. When we were finally escorted to the doctors office Dr Pharies gave no appropriate greeting of any kind. He was staring at his computer screen as we walked into the room. We awkardly sat down. His first words, as he stared into computer screen, were a robotic "who referred you?" When I answered we had no referral, he robotically asked the same question again. I answered again "No one referred us" and he asked "why did you make the appointment?" It proceeded to then be the most bizarre doctor's appointment I have ever attended in my life- and I am 49 and have seen a lot of doctors(good, bad, mediocre) He never looked us in the eye. Stared at a computer screen the entire time, typing. Almost robotically, monotone, bored voice he asked a series of medical questions. All the questions were appropriate, he… obviously has many years of experience. But, his demeaner and interaction was so strange and insulting on a human-to-human level. He then gave a diagnosis after about 20 minutes of this weird interaction and when we asked questions on how he came to this diagnosis/side-effects of meds, he gave VERY brief monotone answers while starting and typing into his computer screen. $40 wasted, we will not be returning.

Dr. Pharies is undoubtedly the best psychiatrist I have ever been to. He actually listens and processes what I tell him and interacts with me as a person before a patient!

The wait at the Dacoma office could be longer than an hour.
