Dr. Hugh Harmon Windom, MD

I came in with a mysterious arm rash and questions about food allergies. Within 60 seconds of being in the room this doctor tells me that she has no clue what the arm rash is and there is no testing for allergies unless it's severe, like anaphylaxis. I explained that my functional medicine doctor had done some food allergy testing years ago and that it was fairly accurate, I felt better after removing the offending foods. She stated "must have been a coincidence." We were at a standstill. She had no answers. It was awkward for a bit and I could tell she was looking for something to say, some sort of answer, some advice. I suppose at least she didn't try to make something up. She handed me a bunch of samples to try for the rash because she didn't know what the rash was, and sent me on my way. With luck, one of the samples (a steroid cream) worked on the rash. Must have been a coincidence!! This was a waste of my time and money. I was cash pay. The kind thing would've been to have just… told me up front they had no answers and they don't do that kind of testing.

I came to Dr. Windom with a diagnosis of asthma from a pulmonary specialist in NJ. He decided that was the wrong diagnosis and proceeded to leave me no treatment for my chronic cough. Well, I’ll certainly believe the NJ physician is right. Dr. Windom is very suave, but that is not what makes a good doctor. He never ran any allergy tests assuming my allergy testing previously in NJ was enough. Well, news flash-NJ doesn’t have a lot of the things that flourish in FL and vice versa. Needless to say, he is no longer my doctor.

I've been a patient of Dr. Windom's for a number of years. He is on time, and always has time to answer questions. His diagnosis with me have always been accurate and he's a "minimalist" with medication.

Scheduled an appt at 9:00 am. We were new patients, so we showed up with my 9-month-old baby at 8:45 am to fill out the paperwork. The waiting room was empty, but I was waiting for an hour to see the doctor. Every 15 min they lied to me that they are preparing the room. After I pushed them, they told me it's their policy for a new patient to wait for an hour to see the doctor. So, I saw the doctor exactly at 10:00 am. Why wouldn't the front desk let me know ahead of time so we could walk around with the baby instead of being stuck in an empty waiting room? When it was a time to see the doctor, the baby was cranky and barely made it. The doctor wanted to perform the allergy test. It would take another hour. Don't you think that mom should be aware of it at the time of scheduling appt? When appt was scheduled the front desk girl Ann never let me know that the doctor would perform the test and it would take couple hours. She never told me that we shouldn't take any allergy medicine… a week before to see the doctor. But she was very rude instead and definitely didn't know what she was doing. When she confirmed that she received our referrals, she said they will call me back to schedule an appt. Never happened. I waited for 3 days and called them. Making a long story short, the staff is rude and unprofessional. The hospital policy doesn't appreciate Moms with kids.

I attempted to make an appointment with this esteemed provider but, alas, whomever answers his telephone was outright rude and unconcerned with the Dr. getting business. Like a previous writer, I, too must go elsewhere. Hoping the good Dr. reads his reviews and makes appropriate staff changes.

Under Dr. Windom's care I now can live my life without constant sinus infections and severe asthma.

I tried three times to make an appointment with this doctors. Whoever was answering the phone was so uncooperative that I went elsewhere. He may be a.very good doctor. I was told he is. But I'll never know.

Windom listens and connects with patients. He looks at possibilities, and assesses a patient based on their symptoms and unique health situation instead of making the quick, "most likely" diagnosis. Involves patient in care and leaves ego out of the equation. Refreshing doctor, very receptive, helpful and caring. I highly recommend Dr. Windom. I'm so glad to have him as my doctor.

He listens to my daughter. Her condition is a difficult one-Atopic Dermatitis. Dr. Windom was the only Doctor to help her in FL. Dr. Windom's staff is awesome also!
