Dr. Hung Dinh Tran, MD

I was 19 years old when i was treated by Dr. Tran, back in 2016-2017 I believe (I’m not good with math). And every appointment I had with him was pleasant. He agreed with my previous diagnoses of major depression and generalized anxiety, however he also diagnosed me with ADD, without any testing. I am currently seeking an ADHD screening with my current doctor, but for entirely different reasons. When i didnt explain the results he was hoping for with my initial dosage of Adderall IR, he prescribed Adderall ER 3x daily in addition. This led to me going several days in a row without sleeping every week. I moved away before i could relay these negative effects to him, but my new primary care provider refused to prescribe the same drug cocktail i was on under Dr. Tran. As a 19 year old, i was on venlafaxine (once per day), xanax 0.5 mg 3x per day, 20 mg Adderall IR, 15 mg Adderall ER 3x per day, and Ativan at bed time. This review is a few years late and I hope Dr. Tran is doing well,… doing psychiatry and therapy all in one appointment was impressive. He catered to my secular desires and tried to keep the therapy as such. My only hope with leaving this review is to make parents or patients themselves that more drugs does not always mean it will solve your problem.

Several years back he drop all his Medi-Care patient leaving us on our own to find another Psychiatrist.

HE INCLUDES VARIOUS SNEAKY FEES NOT CHARGED BY OTHER DOCTOR OFFICES, SUCH AS A FEE FOR CONFIRMING BENEFITS WITH YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY, AND AN AUTOMATIC EXTRA $75 IF HIS OFFICE DECIDES TO SEND YOUR ACCOUNT TO COLLECTIONS. BE ADVISED THAT HE HAS NO QUALMS ABOUT OFFERING NO RESTRAINT OR PATIENCE IN IMMEDIATELY SENDING YOUR ACCOUNT TO A COLLECTION COMPANY, EVEN IF YOU HAVE MADE THE PAYMENT YOU FEEL IS DUE, IN GOOD FAITH. THIS IS NO WAY TO TREAT HUMAN BEINGS, LET ALONE HUMAN BEINGS WITH PSYCHOLOGICAL AND/OR NEUROLOGICAL DISORDERS WHO CAN EASILY SUFFER FURTHER ANXIETY, PANIC ATTACKS, DEPRESSION, AND POTENTIAL SUICIDE BECAUSE OF HIS ACTIONS.

Dr. Tran won't hesitate to levy hefty fees on his patients. Use caution when reading the new patient packet. You will be agreeing to paying for things that other doctors don't charge for, and that are normally considered "the cost of doing business" He will also not hesitate to send your account immediately to a collection company even if you have a legitimate dispute about the total or have paid a portion of it in good faith. He doesn't hesitate to do this because he requires that you agree to a $75 "collections fee," which obligates you to pay an additional $75, regardless of your account balance at the time. Most medical professionals and businesses will grant a debtor some patience and time with paying bills, especially when (as in my case) a sizable portion of my balance was immediately paid and my line of communication remained open and honest with Dr. Tran's office. This doctor is not patient about money and won't hesitate to inflict additional "pain" in the form of steep… fees for any of a number of actions or inactions on the part of his clients (see his list of fees buried in his 14-page new patient packet). My experience with this doctor was horrible.

It takes years and repetition for me to change my unhealthy thinking. Thank you Dr. Tran; couldn't do it without your help.

Doctor Tran was very thorough and picked up conditions that were not noted by other providers. The therapy and medications by doctor Tran have improved my mental health significantly.

I have been sicked and tired of being sicked and tired for years. Seen several providers and been through numerous medications. I was very skeptical that anything can be done for my explosive anger, mood swings, depression, guilt, and shames. And yet, Dr. Tran somehow was able to put me on a regiment that have allowed me to have confident again. I am able to be a mother again for my children. I haven't feel normal since my last child was born in 2002. I am so thankful.

I was having a crisis and Dr. Tran's office was able to get me in quickly. Dr. Tran was very thorough. He respected my opinions and my choices of treatment approaches. He provided both medications and therapy, so I don't have to see a separate counselor.

Dr. Tran was very thorough with the interview. When I have some paper works for insurance, prescription refills, or questions, Dr. Tran was very prompt with the paper work and get back to me. I learned a lot about how to have a good attitude with Dr. Tran's help, and it has helped me a great deal.
