Dr. Hussam K El-Kashlan, MD

I saw Dr El-Kashlan twice about 10 years ago. He was arrogant, condescending, rude - everything that you don't want to experience when you are going to a Dr for pain. There is a reason so many people have posted negative comments about him on this Dr review site and others. The only time in my life that I have written a letter to a hospital or clinic to complain about the behavior of a Dr was because of Dr El-Kashlan. Did he give me a correct diagnosis - yes partially. Could another Dr have given me a correct diagnosis and done it with dignity and respect - absolutely. I am female and I was in my late 20s-early 30s at the time that I saw him. I also wondered if some of his attitude was due to sexism - but I couldn't say that for sure. And to put it into context, since U of M is a teaching hospital, there was a young male doctor (probably a resident) with him and I could tell that the young male doctor was appalled and embarrassed by Dr El-Kashlan's behavior toward me. The… young doctor looked very upset and uncomfortable with the way I was being treated by his superior.

Dr. El-Kashlan is a very good doctor. he always answers my emails and very informed on my condition and answers all my questions.Even seen me on a non-clinical day due to going to the ER for ear pain. He is a very busy doctor but even made time to partake in a homework assignment with me.

Very rude and does not listen. If you are a female forget it. You can tell he has no respect for women. Please find someone else. There are many fine doctors that are much more qualified. Wrong diagnosis and outcome because is thinks he knows what's wrong with you even though you give him your symptoms.

This doctor has an ego and was very rude. I felt like he was sexist as well. He did not listen to me and would not return calls or emaills ( and I have a Deion's ear condition. Dont waste your time with him.

Dr. El-Kashlan is one of the most rude, dismissive doctors I've ever seen. He was impatient and a very bad listener. As a result, we were unable to address any of my concerns. He almost seemed in a hurry to get me out of the exam room. I do NOT recommend this doctor.

Dr. El-Kashlan in my opinion is a great Dr. and i am absolutely happy with having him as my surgeon. Dr El-Kashlan treated me with respect and listened to my issues and concerns before explaining to me what he thought would be the right choice for us moving forward. He did a thorough job explaining to me and my family (with my consent) my condition and what our best options would be. He was prompt and always there on my numerous follow ups and was consistantly polite and detailed explaining my recovery. I would rate him a 10 out of 10. Thank you Dr El-Kashlan

May be highly skilled, but unacceptable bedside manner, makes you feel that he is taking over your life, very arrogant and rude. Find someone else you can have confidence in!
