Dr. Ian David Gordon, MD

The consultation with Dr. Gordon was excellent. Before we met he analyzed my case file. When he entered the room he asked me about a left hand nerve puncture operation even naming the surgeon who performed the procedure. He was interested in the relationship between that left hand nerve damage and back pain. Dr. Gordon does his homework. He brought up my prior back pain treatments and then showed me ex-rays explaining what they showed. He showed me different views, asked if I had questions and then he raised questions I did not think of and explained the answers with the result I had 2 different back pain problems. Next he asked me to walk on my heals, the balls of my feet and normally. From that he discussed surgery explaining he nor longer does it but would recommend a surgeon. He did not push it. Instead he prescribed different medications which have helped considerably. Next he said we could contact him by email or call him. I had his business card contact data. My… wife who was present and I concluded Dr. Gordon was top flight 5 star doctor. We will consult with him again.

This man butchered my lumbar spine in 2007. Since then, I am disabled & subsist on disability. 7 months after he destroyed my spine & the ability to work, he admitted there was complications during surgery, acting as if it had slipped his mind mentioning it. Soon after finding this out, he quit & disappeared for awhile. The damage is irreversible, no other surgeon will even attempt revision or remove broken screws, etc. My life is reduced to poverty, intractable pain & constant ridicule from the profession. I am labeled an addict & treated with distain, indifference & disrespect constantly. Because others abuse drugs & the DEA has been unleashed to destroy even legitimate pain practices, my battle continues to receive adequate medications. Forget about treatment, no one will touch the mess he created. Pharmacies play God, & everyone judges me for the meds I HAVE to have, even tho I have never had an issue criminally or otherwise to justify the prejudice. My medical chart was also… rewritten incident after incident to make me look unreasonable & to cover up his constant deception. The choice of type of surgery to have was dropped in my lap, later research says that with my history it never should have been done, the outcomes invariably fail. His later declaration that "revision" was a possibility if failure occurred had been discussed at length, was a complete lie & I was shocked at the very notion. That fusion never occurred shouldn't be a surprise now. I have a condition called arachnoiditis, severed nerves left dangling adhered directly to my stripped down spinal cord. This is permanent & progressive , I can't even explain the horrible nerve pain that extends from the hips to the toes. By the way, suing for malpractice is near impossible. By the time you realize you're screwed, the statute of limitations of 3 years is up. No one would take my case. This man is a profiteering butcher, protected by insurance & informed consent. Dishonest, deceptive & apparently free to maim at leisure. My advise is to go laser, or don't go at all.
