Dr. Ignacio Rua, MD

Unfortunately, I made an appointment as a new patient for which I had to wait 6 weeks. A week before my appointment, a staff person called to cancel my appointment. The date offered for rescheduling was another 5 weeks away and they simply stated Dr. Rua had just told them he would be “out of town” that day. Ironically, I arranged a trip around my original appointment. When doctors are this unconcerned with patients, it’s a bad sign. I’ll seek medical help elsewhere.

I had a dissection in my Aorta and Dr. Rua and his colleagues were able to repair the dissection and I'm still here today. The group of Surgeons at Baptist Hospital in Kendall are outstanding and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

. On Nov 13 i went to see Dr.Rua as a new patient. The front desk lady was extremely rude and unwilling to help me getting a mistake with a referral. There were only 3 patients waiting and told me "that was not part of her job and she was too busy". As a new patient i left without being seen and took the most undesirable first impression i have ever had. Dont waste your time and money going to a place that the first face you see does the bare minimum and unwilling to work. Tried to speak to a supervisor and was always unavailable.

This is the most unprofessional and disorganized doctor's office I have ever seen. Not once but twice my appointment was incorrectly made. I waited over an hour only to find out that the information Dr. Rua had given me in the previous appointment was wrong. His assistant scheduled an ultrasound and forgot to fax the prescription to the diagnostic office. I will look for another doctor and not recommend Dr. Rua at all.

Dr. Rua is a miracle worker. The office administration and staff isn't so hot, but he is a gift to humanity.

Absolutely appalled at this surgeon. So was our primary care physician. If we had listened to him (his advice: do nothing), my husband could have very easily died. His explanations were minimal and he contradicted himself numerous times during our consultation. Did not listen to us at all about symptoms. Thank goodness we were referred to another vascular surgeon who recognized the pending danger, operated on my husband immediately, and prevented possible stroke, heart attack, or worse. PLEASE seek a second opinion after visiting Dr. Rua. If it's not a clear-cut case, he won't want anything to do with it. Very scary.

The Dr and staff are by far the best at what they do and were above and beyond kind.
