Dr. Innocent Okwudili Anya, MD

Excellent doctor! Dr Anya listened carefully and made a solid diagnosis. He treated the problem and worked to get the medication needed for proper treatment. Dr Anya is kind and compassionate. I believe many of the negative comments and low ratings are a product of mental abnormalities that haven’t been treated.

Dr Anya refused to actually listen to me, and smugly threw diagnosis after diagnosis with me even though I didn’t feel like they were right. When I tried to explain my issues with the diagnosis, he told me that people with “mental issues” don’t know what they’re talking about. Gave me meds that made me feel unstable and gave me horrible side affects because I’m a “pretty girl” and he didn’t want me to “blow up like a big cow” even though I told him I wouldn’t mind another pill if it brought weight gain. I later went on to a new, amazing psychiatrist that took all of these diagnosis’s off, got me in the right medicine and now I’m doing much better. Don’t even get me on the office staff. It’s like they hired all of the punks out of my high school and told them to treat people as poorly as possible. When I called once I got hung up on because the girl started talking to the other office girl and thought that discussion was more important.

At first, I really liked Dr. Anya. His office staff is the worst I have ever seen in any doctor's office. They have delayed my getting my meds. When my husband called to make me an appointment because I was suicidal, they couldn't get me in for 2 months. And I have heard them violate HIPAA, by talking about other patients (and making fun of them) in front of me. I started to be concerned with Dr. Anya when he didn't respect my opinion and dismissed things that I had discussed with my therapist. He also saw my teenage daughter and she liked him at first as well. But, the last time we were in, it was after she'd been suffering from some serious insomnia and had started smoking pot. He changed immediately. His whole attitude toward her changed and he "suggested" that we seek a second opinion. I couldn't believe he just quit on her at her lowest point. That was the final push we needed to leave.

Dr. Innocent O. Anya doesn’t like it if you ask questions about your child’s medication that he try’s to prescribe and if you question his choice of medication he will ask you to leave so my family did. My son’s care deserves the best and this doctor just wants the patient and the parent to shut up and not question. I felt like I was in Natzi Germany.

Spends as little time with you as he can, yet charges full rate.

Do not see this doctor he is a complete psycho path after paying $250 I got a 15 minute session then he wanted to charge me $50 to sign my work release so I could go back to work. He ended up threatening me and my wife on several occasions and he was lunging and pointing his finger in my face and screaming at the top of his lungs. Do not see this so-called doctor he is completely out of control.

The receptionist was exceedingly rude for no reason at all. And I will not be returning to this office because of her. Otherwise, Dr. Anya is fine. But because of the ridiculous amount of negativity from the receptionist, it was a terrible visit. Never again.

Every time I've met with Dr. Anya, he has always listened attentively and offered professional, practical advice. I appreciate his kindness. I would definitely recommend Dr. Anya to a friend.

I haven't ever reviewed a doctor but it's time to now. This dr. Was rude, non caring, and a know it all. He talked very bad about my previous doctor whom I had for 12 years. I only went to another doctor because my previous doctor transferred to another job. Dr. Anya talked to me like I was a drug user and shamed me more than once. I don't use drug unless they have been prescribed to me. I am ashamed of myself for allowing this man to talk to me like he did. I should have walked out. I'm my opinion dr. Anya was very unprofessional . Most any other dr. Would have been better.
