Dr. Ioannis Raftopoulos, MD

He was a great surgeon and even better doctor. He helped me reach my goal and I am glad I went to him. No regrets

I first went to Dr. Raftopoulos two years ago. My first goal was to have the lap band procedure done. After a consult with Dr.R., he suggested the gastric bypass was a better choice for me. I am now one year post op. I have lost over one hundred twenty pounds and feel great. Dr. Raftopoulos is a very caring doctor. He called me every day for the first two weeks post surgery. He gives all his patients his personal pager number and calls back in a short period of time. He responds to all his e-mails at all hours of the day or nite. His bedside manner is very professional. I would, and have recommended him to several people I know. I have the highest respect for him. I not only am a loyal patient, but I also have the great honor to work at the same hospital that he is currently working at. I see him frequently as my department works hand in hand with the main OR, CJRI, and Ambulatory Surgery departments. I feel we have become good friends. I respect him and trust him. There aren't very… many doctors who go those extra few miles for their patients like Dr. Raftopoulos does. I thank him for remaining at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center, Hartford, Ct.
