Dr. Ira Steven Rubin, MD

Very bad experience with Dr. Rubin. He literally planted inferior complex in my child's mind. Our happy and cheerful child who never cared about the appearance and had tons of friends everywhere was subjected to self doubting questions by Dr. Rubin. When Dr. Asked do you care about your appearance my child very smartly responded "never, everybody is different!" I was so proud, but what followed shocked me. Dr. Rubin added to it saying that you must be feeling bad sometimes atleast, you must be having hard time to mix with your friends. My child said NO. Dr said I am sure you are thinking sometimes that why am I different than others. He subjected this to our child atleast 3-4 different times during whole visit. This was so new to me, that I wasnt sure how to react! At one point I even thought that the dr is right as he is just giving reality check. But, later when my child asked for the first time to me why am I like this? I regretted each second I spent in that visit!! I dont… understand how such an experienced pediatrician doesn't even have idea on how to talk to a child? No doubt Dr. Kudchedkar and Dr. Lawande are the best. But, due to scheduling conflict if you end up with Dr. Rubin, you better be prepared with a shield.

Dr. IRA RUBIN is by far the WORST pediatrician I have ever encountered. He told me that my significantly visually impaired son doesn't need early intervention. He would not write referrals to specialists that my son NEEDS to see. And he stated that "babies don't grow by hormones", as it turned out my son was growth hormone deficient. He NEVER returns calls. Of course he gets you in right away for an appointment because he doesn't have many patients. I am a pediatric RN so I do have a medical background and this guy needs to enroll in medical school again. KEEP YOUR CHILD AWAY FROM THIS GUY!!!!

I can not say enough. Dr. Rubin saved my baby.

He didn't talk to my baby or smile at him. He just did the exam as if my child was a specimen instead of human. I will not be returning.
