Dr. Ira Hughes Thorla, MD

I brought my daughter in to see Dr. Thorla to have six small moles removed from her back for cosmetic purposes. When I received my daughter's bill, the total charges were $1,333.00! I called his billing department and was told that each mole had a separate removal charge. In addition, there was an office visit charge, and also a $720.00 charge for pathology. I will absolutely pay this bill, as it is negligence on my part for not asking up front what the charges would be. He removed several moles from my back years ago and only charged one office visit so I "assumed" this would be the case for my daughter. This is totally my fault but thought I would let everyone know to not be embarrassed about asking up front what the charges will be. Believe me, it's better than being hit with an extremely high bill to pay.

The person I spoke with on the phone was so rude and abrasive, I finally gave up trying to communicate my need to her and just hung up. You know, if customer service is so nonexistent and lacking on the phone, before I ever even get to their office -- how horrible is it likely to be when I show up?! They must not need or want my business.

I have suffered with skin problems for the past 20 years. I visited numerous dermatologist in hopes of finding a cure or improve the embarrassing dark spots and rashes on my body which was diagnosed as eczema. My skin problems were not alleviated until I was seen by Dr. Thorla approximately 4 years ago. Now my rashes and eczema are under control and I no longer hide those parts of my body that were once affected by this disease.

Never have to wait a long time. Dr. Thorla is very happy and listens to your problem. All his staff is great.

I was diagnosed with Melanoma stage 2 cancer this year, and I am only 20 years old. It can be a scary thought, but Dr. Thorla did an amazing job and he is very helpful and nice. I would recommend him to anyone!

I first went to Dr. Thorla to diagnose a recurring rash on my hands. He immediately recognized the problem as a somewhat rare form of eczema, and prescribed for me both a shot that eliminated the immediate symptoms, as well as a cream that helps when the problem (which is chronic and incurable) returns.He has also helped several members of our family with various problems (psoriasis, common warts, a benign skin tumor), and has always shown both expert skill and a compassionate demeanor.
