Dr. Irfan Ahsan Khan, MD

I love Dr. Khan. I've never had to wait long. He is professional, kind and caring. I am also very hard to get blood from, his onsite lab has never stuck me more than twice. (The record is 28 sticks elsewhere.)

I was Dr. Kahn's patient some years ago, and would not recommend him to anyone I care about. I was referred to him for a thyroid nodule, the care for which was adequate. However, I also reported fatigue and increased thirst to him. He ran some blood tests and determined that I had prediabetes. The only thing he said about it was "try to lose some weight." Dr. Kahn did not explain to me that the thirst and fatigue were likely related to the prediabetes and could improve if it was proactively addressed. When I emailed him about it recently, he claimed that prediabetes has no symptoms! Seriously? Dr. Kahn must not like reading scientific literature. He also replied that at the time of my diagnosis taking a more proactive approach wasn't the standard. How about an approach that's helpful to the patient? Not the standard either?

Dr. Kahn is a wonderful physician, who is thorough and easy to talk with. He has a professional staff who works well with patients. I have been a patient for several years and he treats me for a thyroid condition, and osteoporosis. Dr Kahn keeps a watch to insure no signs of diabetes exists, which is in my family history.

The doctor took time to explain his procedures and to review my condition with me. He did not recommend any unnecessary tests or supplies (such as an insulin pump). The staff was very courteous, pleasant and easy to work with.

Very nice man. Soft spoken, seems to know what he's talking about, and not harsh but to the point as well. Can get labs done right there.

He won't end up being your BFF, but that's not what doctors are for! I have confidence in him. I like that I was able to get my bloodwork done there instead of having to go to another lab. And his tech didn't maul my arm like many others do while trying to get my blood. I was confused at first that they do the bloodwork after the consultation with the doctor. They call after your appointment if something's up with the test results.
