Dr. Irina Pankova, DO

Avoid at all cost. Doctor might seemed as knowledgeable person , but I did not get to see her. Office stuff beyond unprofessional. I called day before to schedule my appointment wanting to make sure they accept my insurance. Person on the phone said they did and that I do not have to give her my insurance card. When I came for my appointment only then they proceeded trying to find out my benefits. Someone from some other place spend over HOUR AND A HALF trying to figure out if they accept my insurance (?) , after that they told me they do not and did not let me see a doctor. Never mind that I had to take day off for this appointment, because they just had to schedule it right in the middle of the day.. they got annoyed with my frustration with their organization skills and called me in the evening blaming me for their luck of competence. They told me that it was all my fault. I’ve felt with unprofessional stuff in medical offices , but this is beyond anything I’ve seen before. The… level of disrespect is astonishing. Do not go there, do not waste your time or money. There are plenty of other doctors in the city .

Dr. Pankova, (and I use the title "Dr." loosely here) is not someone who cares about her patients. I am in the medical field and patient care works best with a multifaceted approach. Best available evidence, patient preference and clinical experience should all be taken into account when making clinical decisions. Dr, Pankova refuses to listen to patient needs and she refuses to look at the current evidence with glaucoma treatment. She is woefully uniformed about the current literature on glaucoma therapy. I presented the Doctor with some clinical studies (off PUBMED) that I thought were relevant to my condition. She dismissed them completely. Her reasoning was that if she hasn't heard of it then it cant be that good. How arrogant of an attitude is that?! Her attitude essentially implies that she knows everything. That is a dangerous attitude for a doctor to have, because that attitude keeps a doctor stagnant. Medicine is constantly evolving and someone who refuses to… look at research will be left behind while younger smarter and more open minded doctors take her patients. I pay out of pocket, not that this should matter (but in reality it does) so I know she was making a pretty penny off of me.T hat being said I was bewildered when she spoke to me in such a rude and condescending manner. My health is important to me and I want to explore all options. However with Dr. Pankova its her way or the highway and after she was done with her little outburst she told me to leave. She is very unprofessional and I wouldn't go back to her office even if she paid me.

I went to this Dr. because my doctor moved to other address. Waiting very long almost one hour, though I saw only 2 patients and came on time. I don't understand why staff made so many tests and after that Doctor did not say anything new, could not answer my questions. Even she said:" I do not know what to say????"Doctor is supposed to propose something for treatment. Very disappointed.

The doctor Irina Pankova is highly professional ,very attentive.She is one of the best doctors I know.

The worst doctor I had to deal with, luckily first and last time. I came in to see a doctor for a second opinion, as soon as i got to the office I was told that I have to pay two copays, and do unnecessary exam, which I had a month ago, if I want to see the doctor. Dr Pankova was very unprofessional, talk to me in a demeaning manner, but worse of all misdiagnosed me. Luckily I felt unsure after her visit and went to another doctor afterwards. I would suggest to avoid this doctor at all costs
