Iris Zhi, MD

Dr Zhi is a truly exceptional physician. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in July 2020 and it was the hardest and scariest time in my life. On top of this, COVID was in its peak. I remember my first appointment meeting Dr Zhi. I was fearful and sobbing. Dr Zhi walked into the room. She was warm, caring, compassionate and empathetic. She took the time to get to know me first, immediately putting me at ease. She was thorough, taking the time to go over my diagnosis with treatment options, and answering all of my questions. She made sure I understood every step of my diagnosis, treatment and that I was comfortable with the decisions I made. During this visit I felt a sense of calmness come over me, confident in my decision as this is what my doctor would do if she were in my position. I genuinely felt confident I was receiving expert medical care. The staff and nurses were no different. Nurse Donna took the time to get to know me first. She showed such genuine warmth and… compassion for me. Dr. Zhi is an outstanding, brilliant physician with incredible skills and knowledge. She works hard to keep up with the latest medical advances to ensure that her patients are receiving the best possible care. She combines expertise with a willingness to listen and discuss. She is always educating me on the latest advances in my cancer, including any studies, clinical trials or medications. I never feel rushed at any appointment. Dr. Zhi always takes the time to listen to my questions and concerns and explains everything to me in a very caring and clear manner. She’s always easy to talk to and relates exceptionally well. The nurses are caring, compassionate and always go the length to make sure everything is well during my appointment. My experience with all the staff and medical professionals at this office is no different. They are always warm, helpful and extremely accommodating. Every appointment I have, from the moment I enter the doors to the office, I feel welcomed, cared for, and completely at ease. They office is inviting and all the staff and medical professionals are extremely friendly and helpful in every manner. My experience is always received with warmth and care from start to finish. There is such ease with scheduling appointments, calling the office with questions, or messaging on the portal. I’m always able to get an appointment in a timely manner. Dr Zhi and her nurses always respond promptly to my messages, answering all my questions and making me feel at ease and truly cared for. Dr. Zhi goes above and beyond to make sure my complete health and wellness are her first priority. Her combined expertise and a willingness to listen and discuss validates she genuinely cares about her patients will do everything to make sure you receive the best care. The entire staff is wonderful. I truly feel like I have an extended family here. I highly recommend Dr. Zhi!

Dr Zhi is extremely knowledgeably in her field of medicine, as well as truly caring when it involves the treatment for her female patients. MSKCC use to be known for having the best and the brightest doctors in the fight against cancer. Dr Zhi is one of the best and brightest, I feel confident and safe in her care, knowing I am getting the best care possible. I would recommend her as 1st choice to any woman with breast cancer.

Dr Zhi has been wonderful so far. My mom is a patient of hers. She also has a wonderful bed side manner
