Dr. Isaac Oliva Tafur, MD

Dr. Tafur came in and without saying hello or introducing himself he told my mother in law, with arms folded matter of factly across his chest, that she has chest cancer. He then proceeded to talk about the radiation and chemotherapy treatments she would have to go through. When my father in law, who was understandably in shock at this point, asked for confirmation that he was in fact going to be treating his wife for cancer he very rudely replied well I’m not treating her for anything yet! Dr. Tafur then ordered a biopsy and MRI and sent them on to their next appointment after spending no more than five minutes with them. Thank goodness the next Dr. they saw had some sense. While not denying there was a small chance she could have cancer, he did confirm that he spoke with a colleague and they were both optimistic it was more likely an infection and could be treated with antibiotics. What he saw on her chart did not look like cancer, adding that if he did a biopsy like Dr. Tafur… requested, the infection would spread and she would indeed die! He further stated there was no need for them to spend their money on an MRI at this point. Needless to say they won’t be going back to see Dr. Tafur.

Last August, Dr. Tafur, said since we cant do a biopsy he could not treat this cancer, it had grown twice in two months, he recommend HOSPICE and I would have 6 months. I was very ill until January. I declared that I would not die that I would live and proclaims God work. The pain had been easier and easier, I had stopped to take pain med so on Aug. I went to the see my regular Dr. Bailey, I asked if I could have an ex ray of my chest. After having the ex ray the Dr. told me your lungs are clear. Dr. Bailey, said this is a miracle, he cried, the nursed cried. I thought Dr. Tafur would like to know this.
