Nurse practitioner had non-existent bedside manner and did not clearly explain reason for procedure resulting in a giant bill because of the way she coded the insurance claim. Insurance company suggested I ask her to recode and submit again and they would pay claim at100%. She refused and now I’m stuck with thousands of dollars of medical bills

I was having pain and other symptoms and felt concerned for my health. She said, "I doubt it"! Didn't give me any tests. After me waiting for a month and a half to see her. She doesn't care. Turned out I had a serious problem. Went to see another doctor.

Had to wait a month to get an appt., I was so sick,and instead of sending me for tests immediately, like an ultrasound and giving me something for nausea, she said, "oh I can't even imagine how sick you must feel; and then scheduled an endoscopy a month away. Went to another doctor, given an ultrasound and diagnosed right away with gall bladder issues. Haven't had luck w/dr.'s assoc. w/ Stony Brook. Too much like socialized medicine.
