Dr. Italo Lozada

I wanted to make sure I left a review for Dr. Lozado because I was so nervous before I went and I wish more people wrote positive reviews. I had three teeth pulled. I was absolutely TERRIFIED before I went in there. I have never had a good experience with a dentist before today, as dentists seem to shame patients for the condition of their teeth and aren't typically concerned with patient comfort. Dr. Lozado was the opposite of every other dentist I've seen! He was amazing! When I first went in the receptionist was nice, and looked up my insurance information for me since I had lost my insurance card before the appointment. The assistant/hygienist was also very kind. She took the time to explain the x-rays to me, and she even held my hand when the procedure was being done. Dr Lozado was very patient with me, as I was extremely nervous. He explained everything to me, told me my options and listened to what I wanted done. He demonstated the type of pain versus pressure that I should… alert him to by squeezing, then pinching my arm. He didn't use any gel to numb my gums before the initial shot of novicaine, but he was so skilled at doing it that it truly wasn't painful at all. He stayed and talked to me while he waited to perform the second shot of novicaine. Then he pulled the teeth right away. I honestly expected it to hurt but it was just pressure like he said, and also he did it so fast that I didn't have long to stress over it anymore. And the way he did the numbing shots, I didn't feel any pain but I also wasn't drooling all over myself. I could feel my whole mouth except for the parts that needed to be numbed. I had it done 14 hours ago and no real pain at this point, although he does routinely prescribe painkillers for the aftercare. Not all dentists do and that is very much appreciated when you're in fear that there will be pain later. I am just amazed at how good he was, and how comfortable he made me feel. I will recommend him to anyone I can and I would go back to him for any dental work I might need. He's the best!!

Just a year ago i went to get all of my wisdom teeth out, i'd never had a procedure done before this and im TERRIFIED of needles so when i got to the room to get my procedure done so was nervous and shaking the assistant was very very nice and she noticed how nervous I was so she tried to comfort me! He later came in and noticed to so he explained the procedure and how i was only gonna feel just some slight pressure. They treated me like a baby! I am definitely coming back!

I went to get a tooth pulled and after giving me novacaine it still hurt a lot which he said was because it was infected. I asked if he could wait a few minutes to give the novacaine a chance to work and he drops his tools on the table and walks out all aggravated saying if it doesn't get numb he won't be able to do anything today. so then a few min later he came back in and it was a lot more numb so he starts pulling the tooth and it was the worst pain of my life so I was expressing a little discomfort and he proceeds to tell me that I am annoying him and making his job more difficult. Said if he knew I was like this he would have never seen me and he has other patients in the next room who can hear me. So unbelievably unprofessional and rude. I wasn't moving around or anything it was just very painful and I can't help that it hurt me. when I went to get up there was broken pieces of tooth All over me. the assistants were trying to comfort me and I could tell they felt bad. … Do not go to Dr Lozada.

I visited several of Dr. Lozada's offices. Him and his staff are the best. I had my wisdom teeth removed by him and he was gentle and made the procedure for me easier then I expected. I did experience pain after the procedure was done and over with, but I was provided meds in advance because this was expected. I highly recommend him. For the negative comments all I can say is ...you cant make everyone happy. There will always be people that were born to complain.

best doctor ever!!! very very funny and helped me throughout the procedure. staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. Low cost. Highly recommend them .

Dr. Lozada performed implant surgery on me in 2007 when he was working for Gentle Dental in Arlington, Massachusetts. The first implant failed when he tried to place the abutment. Even with x-rays and regular appointments over 6-month period he had no idea that the implant was going to fail. He placed another screw immediately, without allowing the tissue to heal and without gas sterilization. The second implant failed in 2009, 2 years after the crown was placed. When it failed, it was clear that it was infected (screw was coated in biomass) and my sinuses were also infected. Dr. Lozada also hit the sinus when he placed the first screw, and now I have recurring sinus infections. I don't smoke or drink, he predicted 99% success rate, and I'm still without a tooth, unsure how to proceed since I'm now very fearful of dental surgery. Dr. Lozada seems like a really nice guy, but he scheduled 6 surgeries for the same night, and didn't treat my procedure with the care that was required.… Instead of inexpensive implant, I got infected gums, no tooth, periosteal surgery, and I still need to figure out how to solve the problem.
