Dr. Ivana Paz, MD

As a healthcare provider myself, I hold my colleagues to a reasonable standard of professionalism and patient-centered care. Unfortunately, my experiences with this office and physician have been consistently disappointing. The physician never seems to remember who my fiancée or I are, despite multiple visits, and asks the same questions every time (e.g., what I do for work), which suggests little continuity of care or genuine patient engagement. On one occasion, my fiancée—who chose to see this PCP for convenience rather than her regular OB/GYN—requested my presence during her exam for comfort. This is neither unusual nor inappropriate. While waiting, we overheard the physician and assistant discussing my presence in a dismissive tone. When the physician entered the room, I was asked to leave without any explanation. This disregard for patient comfort and autonomy is unacceptable and falls short of standard practice. In addition, the handling of insurance issues has been… unprofessional and dismissive. On a prior visit, we proactively provided the appropriate covered EPT codes to both the physician and front desk staff to avoid uncovered charges. The physician laughed, made rude remarks, and tossed the documentation aside, saying “insurance is insurance.” To make matters worse, after leaving the appointment, the front desk staff brought the paperwork out to us in the parking lot—an unprofessional way of brushing aside patient concerns. Despite our efforts, we still received a bill for uncovered services that should never have been billed in the first place. This combination of poor communication, lack of professionalism, disregard for patient comfort, and failure to take insurance concerns seriously reflects an alarming lack of care by both the provider and front office staff. Patients deserve to feel respected, heard, and properly cared for—none of which has been demonstrated here. I would strongly advise others to seek care elsewhere if they expect professionalism, empathy, and accountability from their provider

Thank you so much Dr. Paz for the wonderful care you've provided me today. Your patience and understanding of my symptoms was great! There are not too many doctors that are willing to listen and diagnose with pointers on life modifying and saving changes as opposed to over prescribing antibiotics and pain killers. I wish we'd find more doctors that truly care for the patient's well-being and not the pockets of pharmaceutical companies. Again, thank you!

This visit was a waste of my time and a copay. I went in for a sinus infection and back pain. I'm 38 years old and not a stranger to sinus infections - at this point in my life, I know the difference between a cold and a sinus infection, especially when my cold won't go away after 2.5 weeks. Dr Paz totally dismissed my symptoms, suggested I drink tea with organic honey. She suggested it might just be allergies and when I told her I visited my allergist last week and I don't have seasonal allergies that are present at this time of year, she said "allergy tests don't show what we're actually allergic to". She then went on to tell me how she'd done experiments on herself that had shown that colds go away from time more than antibiotics. She finally begrudgingly prescribed antibiotics, but then said "don't call me if you get a yeast infection" when I mentioned that I'm prone to them. I also came in for back pain - muscle pain, but severe enough that I couldn't move my back without… substantial pain. She completely brushed this off, and suggested that I go for a run. Again, she told me that she experimented on herself and found that running cured all pain. She also asked if I had a history of depression, insinuating that I was making the whole thing up because I was depressed. Frankly, I'm amazed that CMP has a doctor of this low quality on staff. She doesn't even know the current scientific recommendations and is pushing off pseudoscience as actual medicine. She needs to have her license revoked.

I went in to document back pain for a breast reduction. This woman immediately sets in and accuses me of being a drug-seeking addict, belittles me regarding my breast size, calls me lazy for not having a local gym membership, lectures me on the dangers of narcotics addictions (even though I neither take nor asked for them), judges me for my chronic pain because she has "so many friends who have bigger breasts than you, and they're just fine," and says she will only call in a prescription for naprosyn (500mg) and only renew my prescription muscle relaxer for a week supply. Instead, she gives me a 2 month supply of the muscle relaxer she spent 30 minutes accusing me of being addicted to, and even after FOUR PHONE CALLS she STILL refuses to call it in. I left the appointment sobbing, and I've never felt so belittled and disrespected in my life. She is rude, judgmental, incompetent, and an all-around terrible doctor.
