Dr. Iwona Katarzyna Mienko, MD

When I asked prior to my visit if I can have paper for bloodwork so the doctor could have the results at the visit, the receptionist told me I can pick it up, when I came to office she was surprised to see me but told me she’ll call me next day as soon as she speaks to the doctor about it She didn’t call next day and when she called later on to confirm the appointment I reminded her of not even calling When I came to the appointment with my kids the doctor only spoke to my children as if I even wasn’t there Both of my kids are coming into teenage years and so there are many issues I wanted to bring up She spoke to both of them as if they’ve been grown people and at some point I said to her that I font know why wouldn’t she even acknowledge me and wouldn’t consider my points since I’m the parent and a person who literally knows everything about both of them That made her mad and she told me twice “ I’m the one who runs the show here , ok? “ and for the sake of my kids I went… still At one point when she allowed me to speak and I told her if that’s bad if my daughter doesn’t like fruit she looked at me as I was crazy and asked me “ and do you like mussels? “ and then she turned to my daughter and kept digging why doesn’t she like fruit Not giving me lots to say at the end as she gave me couple minutes to talk (!!!!) I asked her about the paper for blood work ( which earlier on I was told by her assistant I will get with no problem ) she cut me short that she will not , when I asked her about paper for antibodies for cov 19 as I need to know if my children have or not , she told me she won’t When I asked her if there is anything I will need as far as medical papers for him starting HS she told me , “ When they’ll ask then you come to me “ which means literally she denies me knowing if my son who is entering new school and went thru COVID 19 , which I’m not sure , has any defense mechanism And she’s the one to decide it, not me the parent I please think twice or more before choosing this doctor

She is a great doctor. My 4 children feels very comfortable around her. She has lot a patience and I do not feel that rush and all my questions are answered. She saved my 8 year old son's life a quick diagnoses of Appendicitis. The office is clean and waiting time is not bad at all. The staff is friendly and I feel welcome.

I have a 4 mo old baby and i have been in dr. Mienko's office 6 times because my baby was born at 5 pounds full term. Every time i went there and i had questions or concerns about my first baby, she had only one answer: don't worry about it...but in reality i NEED IT answers because i needed guidance. Besides that, every time when i had a question like: what do i need as remedy for his teething pain i WAS told that i need to come to see the doctor, i never got a simple answer without paying for another visit. The last incident i had with her is that she missed to see that the head of my baby is uneven, has a strange shape; i found online that he has deformational plagiocephaly that can be corrected up to 8mo or so. When i told her that she miss diagnosed my child, she gave me attitude, did not admit anything and blamed me that i didn't say anything, which is not true. I was aware of this problem since the day one of my son's life. But I have to be the one to tell her if she is… correct? isn't she the doctor making assessments on babies? Even more, because i GOT frustrated with her, she left the room, my baby was naked waiting to get the 4mo old vaccinations that at the end she refused to do just to punish an upset mom. I told her that I will never come back as a patient and not to punish a 4mo old baby because of me but she refused to do it. My baby was crying because it was in a cold room, undressed for quite a while...still continued to ignored us...we left both crying...another immature and greedy doctor who knows how to punish his patients who are paying bills on time. But i WILL file a complain to the Dept. of Health for what she did. The worst doctor i ever had to deal with...

My son has been seeing Dr. Mienko since he was about 2 yrs. old, he's now 10 and each time we see her, it's always been such a pleasant experience. She's always been very thorough. She's so wonderful with my son and when it comes time for his shots, he's still terrified, but she makes it such a pleasant experience by talking to him and asking him questions to keep his mind away from what's about to happen. She truly is a great doctor.

this is very basic care when i was sick she didnt even check inside my ears or nose or take my temp.

A few times that I have there I had to wait 45minutes to be seen for 5 minutes. I believe that she wasnt listening to what I was telling her about my son and ignored all the symptoms. When I ask her if he needs medication she said no it will go away but I asked her again are you sure she was like OK I will give you something. Did she do this to please me or help my son? I guess the first one. After a few visits I decided to go somewhere else and I am way more happy with the other doctor.

She kept ignoring all the symptoms despite the fact that I was repeating them at every visit. Because of her my son now requires intensive physical therapy and invasive treatments. She could prevent that. "It's going to to away" that was her answer for everything and now we got stuck with the bills from other doctors for treatments that are not covered by insurance.
