Dr. J Raymond Depaulo, MD

J. Raymond DePaulo, Jr., MD, is the Psychiatrist-in-Chief at the Johns Hopkins Hopspital and is also one of the world's foremost investigators into the genetic bases of bipolar disorders. He was named the Henry Phipps Professor and Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences in 2002. As a faculty member in the Department of Psychiatry since 1977, Dr. DePaulo has been an active clinician, teacher, and researcher. Dr. DePaulo remains an active and sought after clinician. His commitment to teaching and mentoring reflects his optimistic vision of the future of psychiatric research. His ongoing research includes genetic studies of bipolar disease and unipolar disorder, and combined brain imaging and genetic studies of bipolar families.
