Dr. J David Schmitz, MD

Dr. Schmitz is professionally thorough, attentive. He tells you exactly what he is doing, what he has found, and his prescribed course of further examination or treatment without being condescending. Unfortunately I cannot say the same thing for the staff at the Ogden Clinic Canyon View staff. When I used their website Patient Portal to inquire about test findings for a possibly very serious condition that were supposed to be ready, I got an impersonal response thanking me for my inquiry and stating I would be contacted within 2 to 3 business days. This means they are telling me to wait on pins and needles to discover how serious my condition is for up to a week after my appointment, including over the weekend when I was told I'd know in 48 hours. Then I am told he is off today and will have to wait ay least until sometime tomorrow. This is incredibly callous and terrible bed side manner, so to speak, in dealing with someone who is wondering what is wrong with him and was… supposed to be contacted the day before his inquiry. This is the third disgracefully unprofessional and dismissive treatment I have received from Ogden Canyon View Clinic staff, including having to wait over an hour past my scheduled appointment, ostensibly because my check-in info was not passed along, and a previous refusal for walk-in clinic treatment after being accepted by Dr. Schmitz as a new client. I am certain the most professional and attentive Dr. Schmitz would himself be appalled.

My husband and I moved to Ogden from Scottsdale. We had a Dr. there for 25 years and 5 generations. Dr. Schmitz is better than the one in Scottsdale. He has always given the right diagnosis. The right meds. He has a great personality and easy to talk to. I recommend him highly.
