Dr. Shohet attended medical school at the University of Cincinnati. He completed his internship in General Surgery at Vanderbilt University and his residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Vanderbilt University. He performed a fellowship with Otology/Neurotology/Skull Base Surgery at the Ear Foundation.

Dr. Shohet is board certified in Otolaryngology. His philosophy of care is to provide the most expert and comprehensive care for ear-related problems possible in both the pediatric and adult populations. His special interests include Medicine and Surgery of the Ear, Implantable Hearing Devices, Cochlear Implants, Tinnitus Diagnosis and Therapy, Vestibular Diagnosis and Therapy, Facial Nerve Disorders, and Lateral Skull Base Surgery.

Dr Shohet is an excellent doctor. He is bright, thorough, and kind. Dr Shohet listens to the patient.

Just wanted to sell hearing aids that were more expensive than we found close by.

I've had two Esteems implanted by Dr. Shohet and one revision surgery. He is caring, knowledgeable, accessible and calm. I have nothing negative to say about him! I hear VERY well now and he is always quick to respond when I have concerns or questions. His office manager, MaryKay, is wonderful as well

Two years ago when my surfer's ear got so bad I couldn't stand it any longer I went to Dr. Shohet who my brother was treating with for hearing aids. Dr. Shohet took one look and sent me to another ear doctor. Said he didn't deal with surfer's ear or my insurance I had an infection which got worse on the antibiotics he prescribed. He wouldn't take my calls or see me for two weeks. It felt like fire was in my head. He has 3 offices and goes out of town. I finally went to the otologist he said and found out I had fungus that got worse by antibiotics. Like an idiot I got talked into a hammer/chisel surgery to get rid of my exostosis with Dr. Hetzler in Nor Cal but had problems due to bone shelves left in. My wife got me to otologist Dr. Jackson who finally got my ear problems fixed with more surgery. Anyhow my brother's hearing aids didn't work right for him so they tried different ones . He had to turn them back in and wasn't happy about delays getting his 8K back. Now I check to see… how thin a doctor is spread and when one Dr. sends you to another Dr, I go right away.

I've seen 3-4 ear surgeons and no one compares to him. His entire practice is how medicine should be done. Short waits, great staff, answered all my questions in depth, and did a great surgery. Couldn't be happier and really couldn't even tell them any place they should improve. From top to bottom, they are great.
