Dr. Jaclyn Elizabeth Legg, DO

I saw Legg for about two years, she was late every single time I saw her. She switched practices three times, and really doesn’t seem to genuinely care about anything other than just writing a prescription. She wrote me a prescription for Xanax that I wasn’t comfortable taking and made my anxiety worse, could never find a sleeping pill that works for me. I am on an antidepressant that does work but it took like five different pills for me to figure out which one was going to be OK. Her Scheduling is a nightmare, she can be late but if you are late at all you get charged and have to reschedule. Should you forget to schedule a follow up she will let you go without your medicine until it is convenient for her to get back to you, as her assistant does nothing for her and doesn’t actually assist with anything regarding the patients. She is extremely expensive and doesn’t take most insurance. I could keep going I’m thankful to be on an antidepressant that doesn’t make me shake cry or sweat… at night like all of the other ones used to, but the treatment that I’ve received from Legg has been lackluster less than stellar and downright disrespectful. I do not recommend her to anybody not even my worst enemies

I'm a 19 year old male, and I have been seeing Legg for ADHD, anxiety, and depression for about two and a half years. Legg worked with me on lifestyle changes and challenged my perspectives on the issues I was facing. She clearly cared deeply about fundamentally shifting my life in a way that would have more permanence than medication. That's not to say that I didn't get necessary medication, I just think she excelled at pushing me. I don't know how she is with little kids, but she handled my situation pretty well when I was 16. I don't have experience with other psychiatrists so it's hard for me to talk from that perspective. However, I have had multiple therapists, and Legg helped me resolve more problems than any of them. Legg moved offices a bit back and since then I haven't personally had any issues with ridiculous wait times. Before, there were times where I would sit for about 30-40 minutes in the waiting room. I think the main reason for the wait is her wanting to fully resolve… issues with patients before kicking them out of her office. If you're very punctual and hate waiting, this might be a more serious problem for you. For me, it wasn't such a big deal. Sometimes you're the patient she'll spend a bit more time with, other times, someone else will need that time. Regardless, I think people are overcritical because these issues take a long time to solve, no matter who you're working with.

My child had been seeing Dr Legg for depression. He began to discuss his thoughts of suicide with her and detailed plans. Dr Legg’s treatment of him was so appropriate. He is on a much better path now. I am very appreciative of her care. She has made some Positive changes with her staff and appointment time allotment. I am very happy to have a child being cared for by her.

She is not time conscious

My daughter really enjoys Dr. Legg. She is a realist. She is to the point and gives good advise. Other Doctors that my daughter has seen, only ask questions, but don't give advise on what to do. One doctor recommended my daughter be put on medication. After Dr. Legg diagnosed my daughter, she said that my daughter didn't need to be put on medication, but needed therapy, exercise, and to eat healthy. My daughter is now on a healthy path. Please be clear, that my rating is based on the fact that I could not even get the doctor to return my call. We had a referral from an inpatient facility and needed timely follow up for my daughter. My daughter was struggling on the medication she had been prescribed inpatient. When I explained this to the scheduling person, she said she left Dr. Legg a message and we would hear back soon. I followed up 2-3 more times and after a week and a half, never received a call. Thankfully we found someone else, but the customer service was bad and she was unwilling to release my daughter's paperwork to another practitioner in the same practice with more availability. We felt like a number, not a patient with needs.

If you are unfortunately referred to Dr. Legg, please ask for SWAB test immediately (if you can afford the relatively small cost) so you know what medicines work for your child instead of wasting 6-9 months on wrong medicine and watching them suffer with depression. We had to learn about this test from others (she never bothered to tell us it was an option) and when we asked, she had a stack of them in her desk drawer, the test took seconds to administer and could have saved us months of pain and sadness. PAKC is totally unprofessional, disorganized and rude. Every appointment is 45-1 hour late and Dr. Legg comes across as cold and uncaring. Dr. Legg sent our daughter to Marillac for 3 day stay and she said to contact her for 2 week visit after she got out to renew her new meds. Her office refuses us to see her for 4 weeks and won't call us back to refill prescription (the right one she is on prescribed by Marillac). They said they would fine/charge us if we called back again… and we were not important. Her assistant never called us back to help us. Their lack of response will leave our child, who is finally on a road to recovery with right medication, without it for 2 weeks because they don't give a darn. Totally unacceptable.

We saw Dr. Legg for our 5 year old son. She was welcoming, kind, and great with him. She listened to us. She did discuss medication options with us but never once did I feel like she was pushy about it or insistant that he be placed on medication. She discussed other treatment options as well. We've only seen her once so far, but she she was very knowledgeable and trustworthy. We will continue to see her.

Do not take the risk of life of your loved ones by seeing her.

This dr. Legg. She doesn't have time to listen and understand feelings of your child. Your child is just a number of patient for her. She doesn't care that mental health is a serious issue and is related to someone 's life and death. She just prescribe the medicine without understanding and listening the seriousness of emotions and feelings of your child going through. As she a doctor and knows the effects of medicine could be serious .Please do not waste your time and money with her. Save your child from her.
