Dr. Jacob Alexander Skinner, MD

Today was my first time seeing Dr. Skinner, He was so patient, kind, listened and explained my situation to me. He gave me options and didn’t make me feel pressured. I would recommend him to everyone. His real, down to earth, absolutely awesome and knows what his doing. Everyone in the front office were totally amazing and very helpful. So thankful and blessed to for Dr. Skinner.

I have been a patient of Dr. Skinner throughout all four of my pregnancies and have always received excellent care. He has consistently been professional, knowledgeable, and supportive during each visit. He takes the time to listen to concerns, answer questions, and make patients feel comfortable and cared for. My experiences with him have been overwhelmingly positive, and I will continue seeing him in the future. Based on my personal experience, I highly recommend Dr. Skinner to anyone seeking quality care. Negative comments I have seen online do not reflect the care and treatment I have personally received over the years.

Dr Skinner is phenomenal! He always takes the time to ensure all of my questions & concerns are answered and that I have a clear treatment plan after each visit. I appreciate his realistic approach and concern for my individual needs. Highly recommend him!

I made an appointment over a month ago. I had to make arrangements to leave work to go. I never received a reminder or confirmation call. I was a little worried. The day of the appointment, I tried to verify my appointment and when I called, I had to leave a voice message. When they called back, they acted like I didn't have an appointment and said they were not seeing gynecological patients any more. I thought it was strange so I made sure I had the correct doctor and called again. This time it was during their lunch hour and I got the answering service. They were not able to help me and told me to call back at 1:00. At about 1:03 I called and got the answering machine asking me to leave a message. I waited for them to call, but I didn't get a call back. I decided I better just go to the office. I thought my appointment was at 1:20 I got there between 1:15 and 1:20. When I explained to the receptionist what had happened, she told me they had a problem with their schedule and knew… someone would be showing up. She had me fill out the paperwork and said she would have to clear it with his MA. I filled out the paperwork and waited until just before 2:00. At this point, I did not have time to stay for the appointment due to work. I told the receptionist I would need to cancel and she just shrugged her shoulders. I explained I needed to be back to work in 30 minutes and had to make a 37 minute drive. She acted like it was my fault. Said something about my appointment was at 1:10. When I said I couldn't get a hold of anyone to confirm my appointment she just said they are closed for lunch. I told her that was not my problem. I was given wrong information the first time I called. I didn't get a call back the second time I called. I was treated like I was at fault for not being able to be seen. I wonder what happened to customer service. I was always taught the customer was always right. I didn't even get an "I'm sorry, can we reschedule you?" I got nothing but a shoulder shrug, we are closed for lunch, and your appointment was at 1:10. As a health care provider, I would not like my patients being treated like this. I would love to give zero stars but it is not an option.

Absolutely Love Dr Skinner! Great bedside manner, knows his stuff and makes patients feel like their opinions about their health matter! Always explains in a manner that’s easy to understand and answers all questions.

I have had DR Skinner as my OB for the past 5 years and my 3 pregnancies. He takes his time to answer all questions and put your mind at ease. I was high risk during my first pregnancy but he always made me feel that everything would be ok. When I went into labor with my first baby I had a nurse who didn't pay attention that my baby's heart rate readings were declining. When he caught it he made the quick decision to try to deliver ASAP with OR on standby in case I needed an emergency C section. Dr Skinner's attention to detail and clear instructions saved my daughter's life. Later that night, my husband overheard Dr Skinner ream that nurse for her attentiveness and explained the potentially fatal mistake she made going further to add that his patients are his number #1 priority. I am forever grateful that Dr Skinner was on call that night because he literally saved my daughter's life but he kept his composure around me so I felt at peace and was able to trust him completely. Southwest… Medical Associates will regret letting him go because he is going to take a lot of business with him to his new practice including me. Whether he likes it or not, I am following Dr Skinner wherever he goes because he is the best!

He has been my Dr. for going on 8 years. When I say Skinner is an amazing Dr. it's no joke.
