Dr. Jacquelyn O Groshong, MD

Dr. Jackie is awesome - amazing at explaining things, getting you in quickly if needed for a fever etc. The office staff always returns my calls within the hour and even after hours! My little one is over a year now and from birth we have felt in very great hands with this office.

Stay away from this woman. She treats your children like she is a vet working with cattle and will not listen to your concerns.

I felt that Dr. Groshong was very fake and didn't really care about my child. We decided we wanted to meet with other doctors in town to make sure we have the right one for our child, and Dr. Groshong gave us the boot for doing that. Apparently you can't ever consider another doctor without getting kicked out immediately. It's for the best though, she obviously doesn't care, so wouldn't want to see her again anyway!

Dr. Jacq found out somehow that we had scheduled an appointment with another pediatrician and canceled her service to us. Formal written letter, etc. What really ticked me off is that she had seen my child to try and determine what is causing her to get sick every month or two and also treating an ear infection with antibiotic. But several days later my child got a bad rash and I phoned in to ask some questions of what to do and they REFUSED to help me even though she was the prescribing Dr. In my opinion she treated us like a number;was very put out with me for a couple times I brought my child in for sick visits; acted like I, as the Mom, was doing it wrong; then I questioned more about an ordered CT head scan for my very young child and wanted a second opinion and got the boot.

I am always very pleased with Dr. Jacque and the time she spends with my daughter, however it can be difficult to schedule appointments when she is sick, which is not pleasant. Also, sometimes the office is not scheduling out 1 year of time when I leave from a well child visit, and I do not receive phone calls for reminders to set up these appointments... bad business sense in my opinion.

Her smile seems very fake. A hypercratic doctor. She may be busy and making lots of money, that is because a small town like roseburg does not have a lot of choices. She does not care about your kids or your opinions as parent. I wanted my daughter to have her immune shots seperately, so she would not get any fever, what is the harm for them? She insisted we have 3 shots on her together the last time, but she is not the one to see my daughter suffer with fever! My daughter never had fever when only giving her one shot a time before! She should not be a kid doctor, since she has no heart for kids! Make an appointment with your family doctor instead with her!

Very personable, good sense of humor, outstanding medical accuracy, but....I have four kids and although she'd been seeing the first 2 since they were born, she turned the second 2 away because she didn't want anymore ohp patients. This is even though I explained the hardship on my family of having to juggle 2 different doctors with 4 different kids. She did not care. I was also told that unless I gave my kids the optional immunizations, they would no longer see my kids. In fact, they were very rude and said I didn't care about my kids because I didn't want the optional shots.

I love Dr. Jackie. I find her funny, caring and engaging. Every visit is pleasant.

She's great! It can be hard to get in, but she has more patients than any other pediatrician in Roseburg so I can understand why. If she was always open, I'd be a little worried. Sometimes there is a long wait, but usually only if she is called out or someone (like the other reviewer!) brings more children than their appointment allows for. And even when there's a wait, I never feel rushed by her or the staff. I know that the time she's spending on someone else while I wait is the same time she's going to spend on my kids. She's even had me come in on days she doesn't usually see patients so that my premature baby could be seen without being exposed to others. She has a huge heart, a spunky personality, and I feel lucky to have her as my doctor.

My kids have been clients of Dr.Groshong's for several years now. One of them was sick recently, so I called and set up an appointment. The next day, his brother also came down with the exact same symptoms. I called to say that I would be bringing them both in at the same time, as I had been for the entire time they'd been her patients - they're twins, and when one is sick or needs immunizations, the other invariably does too. The office staff informed me that "Dr. Jackie has always had a policy that she doesn't want to see siblings from the same family together, back to back, or even on the same day, and we've just been "letting you slide" since you've been here." I was understandably irate, and told the staff member that I though that was ridiculous, that I'd never been told anything of the sort, and that such a policy by a pediatrician didn't make any logical sense. She basically told me "too bad." I was later called back by the officer manager, who frostily informed me that… "attempting to browbeat staff into violating one of their long standing policies would not get me anywhere", and that "if we're no longer meeting your family's needs, feel free to look elsewhere," a thinly veiled invitation to find another provider. My wife is a nurse, I'm a premedical student, and both of us are flabberghasted by this behavior. I've currently been waiting for a call back from either the office nurse or the pediatrician for the last 36 hours, an am about to call them back and tell them they've lost us as patients. The doctor is good with kids and very competent, but between rude office staff, unfathomable office policies that unreasonably inconvenience families with more than one child, and doctors and nurses who won't return a call within a day and a half for a sick child, I've had enough.
