Dr. Jaime Villarreal JR., MD

Dr.Villarreal is one of the most caring and knowledgeable spine surgeons/ physicians in the RGV. Coming from an injury that occurred as a D1 athlete in which had been going on for about 10 month, and not one of many doctors I went to could tell me why I was in so much pain that ran from my lower back all the way down to my toes, which further led me to loosing strength & function in one leg. It wasn’t until I came to Dr. Villarreal that he listened to me patiently as I explained what had been going on the past 10 months while carefully assessing me that led to me needing to have surgery. He walked me through all my options, while answering every question I had towards what he thought was best in regards to my situation. I’m so blessed to have had Dr.Villarreal put in my path as my surgeon. From the first appointment I had till now, Dr. Villarreal has always helped me in any way he could, while always having my best interest at heart. I don’t regret my decision one bit. Staff is… exceptional as well, I love the staff as they are always so kind and ready to help me in any way they can. I’m 2 years post surgery and I’m feeling so much better and doing things I honestly never thought I would be able to do again. I highly encourage you to go to Dr.Villarreal. Loved my entire experience & couldn’t have picked a better surgeon than Dr. Villarreal.

Had an appointment with this guy earlier. Never has anyone spoken to me the way this guy did. Rude and condescending. Fell from the roof, 12', the VA set the appointment for me for obvious reasons. The guy kept telling me he was a surgeon and what exactly I wanted him to do for me. Told him he was the expert and what he could do for me, kept repeating himself with a God like, belittling attitude. Finally told him I was leaving, as we ere walking out, in the hallway, told him thank you for your unethical and unprofessional behavior. Out in the open in front of at least five people, he told the medical assistant, discharge this patient never to be seen again. Don't understand how DHR allow this guy work with them, especially treating veterans. This guy is a perfect example of why a lot of veterans refusal to seek any type of help.
