Unsatisfactory Care and Professionalism ?Provider: Jakita Strong, NP Location: Gastonia, NC Clinic Date of Service: August 12 2024 ?I visited this clinic three times for an allergy-related infection that progressively worsened. During my initial two appointments, I requested an evaluation for antibiotics, but NP Strong repeatedly disregarded my input and denied the necessary treatment, despite the lack of improvement in my condition. ?I originally sought care from NP Strong out of a desire to support a Black woman in the healthcare professional, as I am also a Black woman. While I typically prefer to see medical doctors (MDs/DOs) and was disappointed to learn she was a Nurse Practitioner, I proceeded with the visit, giving her the full benefit of the doubt. This experience, however, has been profoundly disappointing and put a bad taste in my mouth regarding the standard of care provided. ?By the third visit, I was severely ill. Instead of receiving prompt care, NP Strong exhibited… highly unprofessional behavior by accusing me of trying to intimidate her into prescribing medication(antibiotics). My frustration stemmed from the fact that appropriate treatment on the first or second visit would have prevented this third, critical appointment. ?Key Issues: ?Poor Standard of Care: Treatment was significantly delayed, leading to a worsened infection requiring three visits. ?Lack of Communication: NP Strong failed to listen to or acknowledge patient concerns regarding symptoms and treatment needs. ?Unprofessional Conduct: The provider displayed a poor bedside manner and made inappropriate accusations against me as a patient. ?Staff and Environment: The office environment appeared unclean, and the clinical support staff was also unprofessional. ?I cannot recommend NP Strong or this clinic due to the unacceptable level of care and conduct.
