Dr. James Carl Barsz, MD

When my father was in Desert Valley Care Center, dying of Leukemia with less than 6 weeks to live, and asking where his medication was that he had been taking for the past 23 years, he was told that Dr. Barsz saw no reason to continue it. The medication was a monthly B12 injection for pernicious anemia. It was never discussed with the patient, and the distress it caused was unnecessary and debilitating, and contributed significantly to his overall decline. My father was convinced the injection helped to energize him. The only reason this inhumane and insensitive practitioner receives a 'star' is because it's the only way a review can be posted on this site.

He is a great doctor and a caring person. So he hates Muslims and loves Trump as I read in one person's review. Oh well, so do I. Don't go to this guy for anything except addiction. It is his speciality. Don't expect anything else. If you have a hemmroid go to a proctoligst and quit writing bad reviews about my Doctor. Also quit blaming others because you can't control your bad habits. Go try to find a doctor that will spend more than 15 minutes listing to you. Good luck. And you are complaining about being late for work? If you don't like the man go someware else. Five stars for Dr. Barsz.

Rates are lower than his "competition" but if you value your time he's the priciest doc around. Other neg reviews are spot on. He held me hostage for nearly 2 hours as he knows he holds the power to write your script. He answered 3 calls during my appt. showing a total disregard for me and my time. He's a crusty big book thumper. AA and NA has helped a gazillion people but it's not the end all be all. "Attraction rather than promotion" he is not. Taking a picture of me without asking was off-putting and super creepy. Being dependent on Buprenorphine is the only reason I saw him and tapering off is so I don't have to see him again.

This poor excuse for a Doctor that I'm going to sue, is a joke. You go to him to get off of pills. He gets you on so many pills you are a zombie, and are so addicted, that you could die if you stopped taking them. 7 years and my daughter is on so many pills now, this doctor should be jailed.

He does not listen to anything you say! He acts like he knows everything about everything, and tells you what to do. I did not understand, I explained my symptoms and he started talking about some book he read for 1 HOUR, never talked about my symptoms as I was now late for work after waiting an hour to get in for my appointment. I think he may be senile and should no longer be able to practice.
