Dr. James Ray Bartay, MD

With one year of marriage we moved to San Antonio, Texas. For the next 45 years I saw the same family physician. What a fine fellow and great doctor. I never thought I would find a replacement. Dr James R Bartay become an outstanding replace. I respect his thoughts as well has he listening to mine. He is a super fine fellow. My wife & I are glad we have him taking good care of us in our time of need. I am 81. She is almost 79. A public thanks to a good man.

Dr. Bartay actually listens and goes over things with you. I don’t feel like a number at the office. I think he would be impossible to replace plus the office is always very nice and that is important to me.

This doctor knew my sister was addicted to pain meds but kept giving her refills and escalated to morphine. One night she just took too many and committed suicide.

I feel that since Dr. Bartay has been my doctor that my level of understanding my needs has improved . He takes the time to listen and try to understand my needs .

Dr. Bartay is one of the most knowledgeable, thoughtful, caring doctors I have ever been to. His staff is wonderful. I would never see another physician!

Dr. Bartay became my Family's Physician when he took over a PCP, specializing in Geriactrics., in 1994, NB,TX. What a consiment physician for several years. Problems, Rude , non caring, moody office staff due to no consistent guidelines. One family member went to see PSNR and mis diagnosed cancer symptoms, recently let go this year, a geriatric disabled patient. The doctor took control of my health, worked with specialists. Controlled ALL MEDICATIONS FOR OVER TE N YEARS. Became less respondent over last few years, major turnover in staff due to Office Manager, Staff seemed scared to make any decisions without consulting OM Service limited, Doctor access limited, Mission statement does not match service...conflict of Religious consult in office performed by Office Manager.. Find contradictory to actions and dismissal after consult with Doctor last year regarding financial hardship May have to change to Medicare Advantage Plan. We consulted prior to end of enrollment period for… 2015 . He and I always had a friendly, non confrontational Physician Patient Relationship, WE TRUSTED ONE ANOTHER. my decision was to go to a Medicare Advantage PPO which I was not advised by Doctor last year late prior to Dec 7Deadline that the insurance I was considering and decided on was not told to me at that appt it would not be accepted by his office. I also was told by rep you could do private pay. Well my first appt this year I gave my New insurance card and sent one letter review of appt then fired 30 days later due to mismanagement of record documentation and in proper communication on policies. Procedures and Extra. Office Assistance costs posted. Which never in twenty years of practice has been posted. To have your PCP AS YOUR GATE KEEPER OF YOUR HEALTH AND HAVE. LEGAL CONTROL OF ALL MEDS EVEN FROM SPECIALISTS, AND NEVER KNOWING A PROBLEM EXISTED BETWEEN THE DOCTOR AND MYSELF. BASICALLY THROWN OUT THE DOOR AFTER TRUST OF MY LIFE FOR 20 YEARS WITHOUT AN ETHICAL TRANSITION IS COLD AND TERRORIZING IN TODAYS HEALTHCARE UPHEAVAL. PLANNING THIS DUE TO TRYING TO GET A SCRIPT FILLED AND IT WAS DENIED. NO CHANCE TO EVEN RECOVER.

He trys to treat the problem and takes care of his patients... if he has to, he'll refer you to a specialist, but most of the time he is knowledgeable enough to take care of the problem himself... He's a Great Doctor!
