Dr. James Gregory Bonnen, MD

I feel that he has way too many things going on with all of the different roles he plays and that is why there are so many high and low reviews online. I expected a much better bedside manner than what I received during my consult with him. Carrum Health asked me if I would like another consult with him. Not sure why they thought he would be any more professional during another consult. Do yourself a favor and find a different doctor that is about patients and not politics and where the money is.

Cannot say enough about Dr Bonnen and his staff and the hospital everyone was so polite and helpful we very much appreciate them all

Excellent Doctor

My journey was 5 months in the making. Sept 2019 I began having severe pain in my rear shoulder/scapula and into my left arm. As I went through the normal process with my PCP, meds, massage therapy, chiropractor care, shots, acupuncture and more therapy. I began with 3 possible NeuroSurgeon choices. My decision was to choose someone to fuse C5-T1. All surgeons had major experience and accomplishments. My choice to go with Dr Bonnen was because of him, his team and his facility. My care from the beginning was like I was there only patient. The time and care they gave me was exactly what I expected. When you make a major decision like this you have to consider all factors including the team and the facility. I couldn’t be more grateful. Now I’m on my way to recovery!!

I recently had micro surgery on 2 disc after 3 years of back and leg pain I’ve never had surgery before so was pretty apprehensive/scared and was referred to Dr James Bonnen This gentleman and his staff were the most professional friendly people I could have hoped for. They made me feel comfortable on the procedure and answered all my questions and concerns. So far after 10 days I’m doing much better than I had expected I have complete confidence with him and his wonderful team Special kudos to Dr Sarah Kidd the best bedside manor of any Dr I have had the pleasure to meet

What a waste of time with Dr Bonnen. Wait time was 1 hour and 30 minutes. His medical advice was to buy Aleeve.

Had a 2nd appt with Dr. Bonnen recently. My first visit he made me feel like he was talking down to me, and just told me to get an MRI before he would even talk about anyting. He did not even examine me or anything. I got my MRI completed and on my 2nd visit to discuss my results he suggested options. He apparently thought I wasn't listening because when I asked him to suggest another over the counter medicine for the pain because the one he suggested wasn't working, he repeated what he had just told me like I was an idiot. I am going to take his referrals and hope the physical therapy and pain management doctor helps because I will NOT let him perform surgery on me!!

This is the way that his staff descibed him to me. Boy were they right! He took time to answer all my questions and i left feeling so taken care of. I would recommmend him to anybody needing surgery. He prayed before they took me back into the operating room. Just all around a great Dr.
