Dr. James Roy Carlson, MD

I was treated like a naughty child, demeaned and dismissed. I will NEVER go back.

Dr. Carlson, Dr. Chris, Stephanie RN and front desk staff Alessia and Emily are incredible. They care about the patients and the care is excellent. I had significant vertigo and was referred to another ENT group. They could not see me for 2 months and made no effort to have me seen sooner. I notified my PCP of the delay and she then referred me to Dr. Carlson. I was seen the next day by Dr. Chris with follow up by Dr. Carlson. My vertigo was treated successfully. There is no waiting in the lobby as they see you very promptly. They have accommodated my schedule for follow up appointments. The office has state of the art equipment. I highly recommend Dr. Carlson, Dr. Chris and Stephanie RN.

I called Dr. Carlson's office prior to making an appointment to see if my Cigna insurance would cover the cost of the visit to lessen out of pocket expenses since I am on a budget. Alecia from Dr. Carlson's office called me back and told me that she provided all the billing codes to Cigna and that they would cover my hearing check and wax removal. I would be responsible for the $45 co-pay for the appointment. When I came in for my appointment I provided my paperwork and the receptionist asked me to pay just $45 for the co-pay, which I did with my credit card. At no point before the appointment or at the appointment was I told that I would be seeing 2 doctors versus one. I did not even know that the man testing my hearing was indeed a doctor. After the hearing test, I was taken to another examination room where I met with Dr. Carlson who explained the results of the test. Passed the test. I then receive a bill from Dr. Carlson's office stating that I owe another $45 dollars for a… co-pay for Dr. Engelkes, who turns out was the man who conducted the hearing test. Emily in the billing office would not answer the question, "why was I not charged 2 co-pays at the appointment?" This is classic bait & switch. Dr. Carlson's practice and office is unscrupulous and deceptive. I will never return and will tell family, friends, and co-workers of my unfortunate experience.

I wish my visit with Dr C arson had been positive. he was rude, hurried, didn't want to hear my symptoms and hadn't read the Referral visit reason from my PCP - was very disappointed except for the friendly, knowledgeable staff. I won' t return

Don't go here if you are on Medicare. Unless you sign away your Medicare rights, this doctor will not see you. You are expected to sign paperwork saying you personally will pay the bills. This Doctor puts his Masters in Business Administration qualification initials before his Medical Doctor initials - and that says everything. You have been warned!

I think many or all of the positive reviews were manufactured. He is the worst, unskilled, unkind physician I have ever seen. BEWARE!

Dr. James Carlson is a wonderful physician. He takes pride in patient care. He is patient and answers all questions asked. Not only is he my ENT doc, but, because of the ease of appointments, friendly staff, and excellent patient care. I refer my patients to him.

After 25 horrible years of getting sick more than my share, Dr. Carlson figured out what is wrong with me! And he did two sinus surgeries that were a breeze. I can't thank this guy enough. One thing: I can be very difficult for doctors -- used to be a scientist and have found many lacking. Carlson is top-notch.

James is unprofessional. He does not spend an adequate amount of time with a patient. He does not possess specific knowledge about conditions of the ear. He does not care about the well being of patients he sees. Seek another doctor.

I had to have sinus surgery and it went about as smoothly as I could have imagined. No pain. Almost no discomfort and a lot was done -- lots of tissue that had accumulated over decades had to be removed, unnecessary sinus bone, etc. Dr. Carlson fixed me right up. I'm so pleased because I'm feeling good again after the sinus infection from Hades that no antibiotic could get to. I can breathe better than I would have thought possible. And the staff at his office is dynamite friendly. Some of you might think Dr. Carlson has a somewhat distant bedside manner, but I liked him a lot. When I called him on different occasions he called me right back. Most impressive. Thanks J.C.!
